Last console i owned was a 3DS (super goated console)

Now its the first time a console releases when im an adult and with a job

To my own surprise I was more impressed by the Switch 2's hardware capabilities than its software in this Direct. The (now officially confirmed) support for 4K resolution with 60 fps or 1080p resolution with up to 120 fps + HDR made the Switch 2 feel up to date for a Nintendo console.

The new/returning features (GameChat, GameShare, built in microphone with noise cancellation etc) were also nice little quality of life additions.

The presentation did however lack first party Switch 2 exclusives, which at the end of the day is the most important thing about a Nintendo console in my opinion, and the few Switch 2 exclusives (basically Mario Kart and DK) that were shown didn't really look that visually different from a Switch 1 game besides perhaps the higher resolutions.

Hopefully we'll get to see some more first party Switch 2 games in the next few months. The true test will be their next single player 3D Zelda and 3D Mario.

Do we know if a Switch 2 Upgrade is necessary to play a Switch 1 game or can you play it without the HDR/framerate jumps?

Idk why they would market it as a multiplayer game if it had offline
