Some ideas I have for features/modes that I think would be dope to see in a Mario Kart game (give me a call Nintendo and we’ll make it happen):
Boss Race: In this mode the goal isn’t to come first, but to come together. Use the items you collect on the map to defeat a boss (and its potential minions) while driving and drifting. Some bosses may have certain weak spots and be weak to certain items (for example green shells or bombs), so whichever driver happens to come across those items can put an extra dent into the bosses demise.
Delivery Kart: NPC’s around the world are in need of having certain packages, items or people delivered to them. You receive a request, you’re told where to pick up the package or the person who needs a ride and you’re given information on where to deliver them. Depending on how many deliveries and the type of delivery you’ve taken on, you can choose the type of vehicle you think will make it the smoothest and fastest delivery (think Death Stranding but with Mario racers).
Pass the Torch: As the name suggests. You and your team mates are at different locations on the map and they can only start driving once they’ve received the torch from the team mate who started the race before them.

Great ideas. For now, I'm just happy that we got a Battle Royale mode
at a cincinnati reds game and seattle has the huge nintendo switch 2 patches on their jerseys they look so funny
most of the game looks boring
im kinda shocked this is the launch game

seems pretty random, but mk8 is one of the best selling video games ever so I think they just went straight for returns

Im curious if this move will pay off. It’s a bit of a different climate for Mario kart, a lot of people who played on switch didn’t have a Wii U so they hadn’t played Mario kart in over a generation, with the switch 2 they’ve all recently been fed on switch and got a TON of dlc so I wonder if this game will have the same demand
wonder if this will still end up as being the best selling game of switch 2
im kinda shocked this is the launch game
Why lol
The last Mario Kart game was 11 years ago. It was the most obvious thing ever that the next MK game will be the launch title

idk it’s just not hitting on the same level as Zelda or 3d Mario, which is the usual launch game. Botw felt like a big leap, a new direction.
It does look good but the gameplay doesn’t look like a substantial upgrade over mk8.
Driving from map to map in a connected world style gameplay was something 10-year-old me dreamed about lol.

Pretty sure it’s because MK is one of their most accessible games.

And thats why they did it now. They want the young generation on lock and they will love it
People will love this game

reeeeeaaaaalllllly depends, the thing we never think about here is that there will be a lot of kids getting a switch for the first time, maybe this will be their first mk as well?

I think you’re right
didn't watch the direct yet but obviously I'm in for Mario kart so doesn't really matter what they said
launch window is still f***in bonkers, 3D DK, Metroid prime 4, legends za, first new kirby directed by the creator of Kirby in 20+ years, finally silksong, AND a Miyazaki directed exclusive bloodborne spiritual sequel? nuts
I think you’re right
Can literally have 2 year olds to 99 year olds playing the game. I feel like a 3d Mario/DK wouldn’t sell well as the launch bundle.
mmkay I watched the MKW trailer and it was awesome. can't wait

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe sold more than Super Mario Odyssey and Breath of the Wild combined
I like the mission stuff for the free roam mode. Gives you something to do and unlocking outfits and such. Wish it was a bit more ambitious (story mode) but I like it
I definitely think MKW has a lot of content and Nintendo isn’t wrong to say it’s worth $80. I don’t wanna pay that so maybe I’ll wait to get it. Not sure
Overall, the game looks great and unlike the other guys, Nintendo releases complete games on day 1 that run perfect
World looked awesome. Everyone complaining about the game needs to understand that they’re going to support the game with free updates and paid DLC in the years to come. Mario Kart 8 lasted over a decade
This is facts
Nintendo releases high quality products that are complete and run near flawless. If any company “deserves” to overvalue their products, it’s Nintendo. Not saying it’s right, but I understand. MKW should be $70
But Switch 2 and all its games will do extremely well
