I don’t wanna be struggling to find one in July when DK comes out so might as well buy it in June. Not to mention the price could increase randomly like Sony and Microsoft have been doing.
Also personally im excited to replay botw and totk in 4k60, even though I love those games I always felt like the hardware really held it back

Ah I see, but are you planning to get Mario Kart as well or are you just gonna stick with the Switch 1 upgrades and GameCube games until DK drops?

Most likely I won’t pick it up, it looks good but I can tell it’s not my cup of tea.

Aight cool. I am still unsure about the Switch 2 in general at this point, in part because the first party announcements so far have not been from any of my favourite Nintendo franchises (Zelda, 3D Mario, Splatoon), and in part because the Switch 2 is ridiculously overpriced here in Sweden/the Nordics.
Knowing myself I still might get tempted and buy one once it actually drops cus of the hype of a new system release, but due to the factors I mentioned above I don't think it would be the best purchase at this time for me.

It’s both funny and sad that we’re both Nintendo fans but our purchasing decision is mostly guided by the price of the console. For your country it’s too high, for me I’m worried about trump tariffs or whatever rising the price further in the US. I’m very curious how the switch 2 will perform given all these factors. It seems that the pre-orders are breaking records, but I wonder if that’ll fall off quickly.
I also agree, the first year doesn’t have any of their big IP, but I love Metroid, Kirby and DK so I’m fine with the less popular IP getting the spotlight

That is indeed a bit funny and sad. I too am wondering how much these factors may affect the Switch 2 sales and success further down the line. I bet they'll just reveal 3D Mario or Zelda at some point and everybody will throw money at the screen

exactly. Nintendo is like this two-faced beast, the corporate face, making decisions that pisses everyone off, and then the artists/dev face that cooks up the masterpieces, once that face charms us we basically shut up and tunnel vision on how good their games are

Precisely. That's a perfect description of Nintendo
