How important is gear stats/perks in splatoon 3? I haven’t played since a few months after it came out and I feel like I’m pretty much screwed trying to grind for specific stats

Wow I actually can play this in the shade outside. The Switch 1 screen was too dim and had too much glare.

Imo the combat is worse in TOTK because of the fuse mechanic being so cumbersome.
