Been a long time lurker since the ktt1 days, and every time I check @provider's Release Date thread, his message about having a contribution to the site hits home. Maybe this won't get a perma-pin, but at the very least, I hope y'all have the time of your life watching and discussing these here as one big dysfunctional family!
Great idea @op
Alright y'all got the thread up and running, now can we talk about how us blog era babies are feasting with this Wiz concert? He really stuck to the Kush & OJ classics
That Mesmorized performance

Day today’s was probably the reason my friends and I started smoking if we’re real
Counterpoint: there are a ton of people who don’t live near big cities who don’t have the ability to travel to see the artists they love, if they’re even lucky enough to have the artist stop in the city they’re “close” to in the first place. And there are quite a bit of artists that do tiny desks that don’t even go on big tours to begin with. AND if someone is lucky enough to find a clip of their favorite artist’s live performance, it’s probably going to sound like dumpster juice because it’s not EQ’d properly and recorded through a phone camera. Tiny Desks give people a way to see their favorite artist do a stripped down set, with a live band no less. When was the last time you went to a hip-hop concert where the artist actually had a full band playing the songs and not a DJ up there playing instrumentals?
As someone who grew up during the megaupload and rapidshare days I’m all for hating on streaming, but hating on tiny desks is an insane hill to die on. Thoughts on MTV unplugged?
Nah I see where you’re coming from and I agree and get it completely now. Definitely misunderstood the point you were trying to convey, my bad
I could never be mad at anyone name dropping Heatwave on page 1 of my thread, RIP to the GOAT Rod Temperton. My dad never had the money for us to do anything extra on the weekends when I was a kid and I’m still sad we didn’t get to see Maurice White’s EW&F when they stopped in my city when I was in middle school. There were a couple kids wearing the tour shirts the next day and I’m still envious of them to this day. But that’s why I’m so glad Roy Ayers was able to do his Tiny Desk. I’m always going to be able to go back to that one since I never got to see him either
