I'm not super old or anything so i wasn't like a full adult in 2008 either, but its like the state of geopolitics, the current financial market (especially in regards to inflated housing, usages of credit, debt, inflation fears), and also all the culture war stuff under Biden is obviously very similar to the early proto-culture war stuff first under Obama. It's calmer than Trump so it's "back to normal", but MSNBC/CNN/etc have resorted to being like quasi-state media and Fox News is just crying about whatever culture war of the week thing they can exploit. A lot of the national conversations especially about finance remind me about 08 and with housing/credit/inflation stuff it seems a bit uncanny. Also i think that geopolitics just kind of like...shifted immediatedly back to pre-Trump again (for better or for the worse depending on your alignments there). It could just be that 4 years of Trump and the tail end of covid have completely warped everything so far that anything non-Trump era just seems like 08 too, but it really feels a bit uncanny
