F*** Manchin
He’s hella annoying
Like why tf are you against ev? They’re building battery manufacturing in the IS that creates jobs and eases reliance on China. Yet you receive money from fossil fuel lobbying so here we are. Lame af
When will they start making it illegal for these governments officials to receive contributions from these companies lobbyist to sway how our country is run. Ridiculous

Little too much leaded gasoline for these boomers
Wish these Hunter Biden conspiracy mfs would just s*** or get off the pot. Either prosecute him and the trump kids and maybe even both their parents (I wouldn’t mind having a non dinosaur president) or shut the f*** up and accept that these families you’re living vicariously through wouldn’t spit on you if you were on fire
OP was a Hillary shill and went MIA after the Russian investigation went no where.
Russiagate my favorite conspiracy theory

What's the conspiracy? Dude got millions in bribes from Ukraine. Seems clear-cut to me

Right, so if that’s the case get his ass charged and shut the f*** up about it
It’s more valuable as political capital left in this “he can’t keep getting away with it grrrr” stage because the minute someone actually tries to bring charges they have to shine the same light on the trump kids and they don’t want that. Both are rich enough to get away with it all anyway. So I’m just tired of hearing about it over and over when it’s clearly more about propping up a scandal for his father (like there’s not enough s*** we can call him out for legitimately in his own right) than an interest in justice.

I apologize for not being the US Attorney General
No s***, it's most likely bribes for his father, Hunter's only relevance is having a powerful father
Trump kids deserve the same punishments but since capitalists make laws and rule the country they will all get away with it
Conservatives are pure comedy man. Like they really do think teachers are out here teaching Marxist theory to first graders.
Y’all see that Clarence Thomas news? S*** had me like

In order to delve into current, American right-wing libertarianism and that ideologue, we need to start off with the roots. Libertarianism, at its core and historical basis, is the upholding of complete personal autonomy-- meaning minimal intrusion of an outside entity (the state, for instance) and inalienable civil liberties. There's a few elements that popped up before the 17th century in places like the Chu dynasty (Laozi), but the genesis of the ideology was born in the Enlightenment.
Much of its initial state was influenced by liberalism and vice versa. By liberalism, I mean philosophers such as John Locke, Thomas Paine, etc. At it's core, again, there is a strong skepticism of authority. However, where we branch out on is what defines the libertarian. For instance, anarchists are staunchly libertarian. At the core of anarchist ideology, the goal is to circumvent the state and create a society with no hierarchies. Libertarian socialism is borne from this and is an ideology that is staunchly anti-authoritarian (against central planned economy and the dictatorship of the proletariat through state apparatus). And then other s*** like Georgism yadda yadda.
Where it gets messy is the evolution of right-wing libertarianism, which kick-started during the Vietnam War, as leftist libertarians broke off from people that started to form around a paleoconservative resurgence in the 1960's.
Here, we see a massive b******ization of the historical line-- yes, the skepticism towards the state is still there at its core, but the skepticism is accompanied with a look towards the corporation as society's guiding force. Here we see the staunch difference-- anarchist and leftist libertarianism promotes individualism and thus a complete dissolution of hierarchies, while right libertarianism subverts the state (except in the case of ENFORCEMENT of private property law, so far as the police and court system) in place of free market (in their perspective, "the people"). We can realize this in two ideologies: anarcho-capitalism and minarchism.
From anarcho-capitalism and minarchism, there are prevalent, agreed-upon elements: Laissez-faire/free-market capitalism, natural law, civil liberties, strengthening of property rights, and the complete reversal of the welfare state.
This is a very, very brief overview on libertarianism, and if I were to guess, I would say your friend is leaning on right-libertarianism than what we consider the leftist kind.

@krishna_bound I know you're way smarter than me, you can take this apart if you feel like it. Vox is asking me for a general overview of libertarianism. I skipped over a lot but I think this is an accurate, very high-level overview.

They don't actually care about their best interests, they (and their constituents) will vote for anything to "own the libs" at this point

Does congress set price of insulin?
Does congress set price of insulin?
Congress does not set the price, but congress can cap the price. A lot of countries (that aren't run by big pharma lobby dollars) set limits on the prices of "life saving d****" like insulin.
According to the bill, beginning on January 1, 2023, group health plans and health issuers offering insurance coverage cannot apply a deductible on insulin and cannot require Americans with diabetes to pay more than $35 or the amount equal to 25% of the negotiated price of the selected insulin product, whichever is lower. The bill was introduced on February 25, 2022, by Reps. Angie Craig, D-Minn., Dan Kildee, D-Mich., and Lucy McBath, D-Ga.
No way 10 republicans vote for it in the senate though
What’s the point of them going against it? Is there some financial/lobbyist gain they have from opposing it? I don’t understand (I don’t even smoke lol)

Probably just because it was written up by democrats. it's as simple as that.

It’s wild and a very old timey GOP position to hold in 2022 to be opposed to legalization though — I feel like they’re just straight up opposed to it for that traditionalist reasoning, hence not ever making their own legislation for it.
I’ve come across a lot of maga heads that are huge stoners. P weird that their party still isn’t switching gears on it
