That is actually, one of the main reasons i voted for Biden.

We need people who arent trying to actively divide the country for personal gain.

I 100% understand how you feel. I live in a hick town and everyone says the exact same s*** that the person i was debating with does.

Its infuriating. I dont think im really that smart but i feel like a rocket scientist compared to people in my hometown just because i think wearing a mask is a good idea.

If i could just convince my blood red state. But i dont think thatll happen. I think they will be far easier to reason with if Biden wins this election. Showing them that America doesn't truly agree with Trump's ideology

Give or take 2 weeks later actually. People are gonna be gun totingly pissed the f*** off if trump loses for a couple weeks

I had a pretty heated argument with my dad over the phone yesterday that I shouldn't have ever engaged in. It's pointless. But the moment I hear "the media is so unfair to Trump" and "the Lord wants Trump to win" as if he's somehow the relatively moral and upright option, I turn into a rabid dog.

It breaks my heart to see people I care about turn into scared, gun-toting conservative caricatures because of the lies they've been fed. You can tell it's all steeped in right wing media bullshit because the arguments all follow the same lines. They're seeds that bear fruit over time. All information works this way, positive or negative.

While I do think it'll be slightly easier at that point, especially with all the people that'll suddenly act like they never liked the guy, I still feel like it'll be near impossible to actually break through to people when you're up against the propaganda machine that is Fox

Oh i know man. Every single member of my family will quote campaign attack ads at me as political opinions. It hurts to see bro. Like i thought you all were smarter than that.

Only member of my family who knew trump and the republicans have been full of s*** the last 4 years was my grandpa who died a couple months back. That man was born back before the emmett till incident and could still call this bullshit for what it is.

To see my family frankly become a little racist out of nowhere has been shocking to say the least.

There's so much fear coming from both sides. My dad legitimately believes that the 2nd amendment will be undermined and he will have his gun taken away from him, even though we have a completely imbalanced SCOTUS full of conservative activist judges. It's so stupid.

The one thing I always try to do in political discussions, no matter who it's with, is to steer things away from deflection and whataboutisms. Like we were talking about the 100,000 votes in Harris County possibly being thrown out and his response was about liberals voting twice or some s***. OK...but what does that have to do with state legislature throwing out curbside votes? How do Biden's decisions 20 years ago justify Trump's decisions today?

Controlling the conversation that way really makes a difference and also forces people to practice a new way of thinking. Trump supporters have been trained to pass the blame onto the other party and, frankly, it's childish.

The quoted statistic from The Economist literally said nothing about Biden winning or losing

The statistic simply said that 41% of republicans prefer to vote on election day as opposed to voting early

This doesn't mean that Biden will win/lose this just means that a good portion of republicans haven't voted yet
