Purple Rain is the easiest to start with for sure, since ik you enjoy complex production and fleshed out material 1999 would also be a great album to start with

definitely gotta check out Around the World in a Day, super psychedelic and some of my favourite lyricism from him.

Controversy, Around the World in a Day and Dirty Mind are all musts, lots of prince stans will say check out parade too but for me it's a bit ehh
