How in the hell am I just hearing this demo? This finally leaked?
Which goes to show that Prince was on that s*** but he knew it wasn’t for his records. It’s true, I see why people were like “ maaaaaaaan you made this ?!?!?” Every single day he had something 😳
This has to be leaked from Jesse Johnson. Jesse said on questlove podcast Prince had given him drum machine demos of alllllllllllllll the early work of For You & self titled lp sessions.
Before he would lay the live drums , he would do it on a drum machine. This was how he would stay sharp on drum machines & live drum kits.
“If the timeline is accurate, "Neurotic Lover's Baby's Bedroom" was recorded about a half a year before the sessions for his 1978 debut For You. Unlike the highly polished ballads and eager-to-please pop songs featured on that album, this track displays a very strong Parliament-Funkadelic influence.
Prince trades the sweet falsetto of his early records for a George Clinton-style spoken word delivery. At the two-minute mark, he unleashes a wild, extended guitar solo that makes even the one featured on 1979's "Bambi" seem tame. The risque lyrics, which at one point offer instructions on autoerotic asphyxiation, offer an early preview of the sexually charged subject matter he would tackle on future tracks such as "Head," "Sister" and "Darling Nikki."
And the sound of this makes it evident prince did go to a pfunk show and try to tape it.

Which demonstrates this story is no cap:

Prince was a bootlegger like us. 😳
Who is leaking the material still?
Someone seems to have the Loring MPLS material in droves.
from princevault:
"Neurotic Lover’s Bedroom is an unreleased track recorded in 1977 at the Loring Park Rehearsal Room in Minneapolis, Minnesota (during the same set of sessions as Hello, My Love and I Like What You’re Doing). The song was a result of manager Owen Husney’s purchase of a drum machine for Prince; it is believed to be the first time Prince had recorded using a drum machine, therefore. The track remains unreleased"
Someone needs to talk about Husney and ask "what drum machine, you vague mf?" If you think about it, he hid the drum machine until like controversy era.
@Trouble @Prince @EyesOnTheSmile
So when we talk about the Linn drum, we have to remind people that prince was using a drum machine in 1977. Which puts him in the forefront of drum machine tech pioneers like Numan, Kraftwerk,Devo,YMO
AGAIN, that's not in the history books that needs to be put there. Too much focus on the cloud guitar. What do you want to know? it's a customized bass that was originally inspired by a mandolin with EMG gold pick ups added to it and a headstock from a MPLS luthier. End of story, fam.
And in some ways this is more interesting than the Linn drum because we heard most of Linn drum work.
It is more interesting to know about the drum machine he started with. BUT i've never even seen one article on first drum machine of Prince. NOT one except this blurb on Princevault and questlove podcast with Jesse.
But it shatters the myth that Prince wasn't up on drum machines before he made his first album.
Ohhhhhhhhhhh yes....he was. Jesse, give up the tapes, you b******

This isn’t a diss to “party up” but prince really didn’t want to just say “ written by Morris day”
I think he really believed that if he gave a full song credit, it made him less of an artist? 😒
But getting back to this song, he thought this was one that what? Was the song he wanted to play live because it had the word party in the title?
“Around the world in a day” I get wanting that song because the instrumentation & arrangement .....but party up? I don’t think I would give a record deal for that song. I’d tell morris “ look this song is catchy, and I will hand it to vanity. Now hold this camera 🎥 & film me, Morris. Morris, I’m waiting 😳 “
😒

1972- to whatever. That gap doesn't seem right, what is missing? Maybe that's australia regional roland manufacturing list.
