People trash on the lyrics and also a lot of Prince fans will say he should've put Moonbeam Levels on the album instead of free as they share similar production and ideas

Never had a problem with it personally, feel it fits better on the album than something like All the Critics love U

Plus it's the first song where Wendy contributed vocals and worked with Prince

Automatic easily my least favorite track on 99. Too long and sounds like it was recorded on a toaster

it's a great song, great vocals and was always one of the better deep cuts from the early 80s especially compared to garbage like All the Critics love U or Ronnie talk to Russia

Not a super big fan of the audio mixing on that new Purple Rain Syracuse show

bass, guitars and vocals are phenomenal and yet the synths have been completely turned down in the mix and almost removed in some sxns

always thought it was bottom 5 from that 80-84 period

Btw that new Prince & The Revolution live album is out now, completely forgot about it

i love it. i've had a bootleg copy on CD for the longest and it's great to hear a remixed version of it. that being said, the synths do feel drowned out sometimes
