Rio Da Yung OG is a Flint, Michigan based rapper whose unorthodox style has helped mold Michigan rap into what it has become today. His flow is commanding and dances around the intersections of these inventive Detroit/Flint producers drum patterns. Lyrically, he brings allot to the table. His witty bars and punchlines are refreshing in a landscape where “bars” have kindve taken a backseat. Some of my favorite lines:

“Ain’t no zips gettin sold here bro, this the bird spot/put a blindfold on and start shooting b**** this bird box”

“Got pulled over with a ball of hard I chewed it up/they let me go, I pulled up on a fiend and I threw up”

“If I catch my b**** cheatin I’m cuttin the game off/run up on a n**** and politely take his chain off”

Rio has dropped several solo albums and collab albums not to mention a f*** Ton of new videos almost daily for all of 2020 with The Who’s who of Michigan rappers.
