The most influential and consistent American rock band OAT

They are to me what The Beatles are to a lot of people.

    Btw, Buffalo 66

    You a real one broski

I 100% stand by them being the most influential american rock band.. Folks are so fast to mention The Velvet Underground but tbh Sonic Youth took the sound VW pioneered and pushed it forward for a completely different generation of bands. Alternative, punk, indie, experimental, metal, grunge, etc all took notes from Sonic Youth.

Daydream Nation is a great starting point. Then if you want more of the same - peep Sister. More post punk? EVOL. More grunge? Dirty. More mature/poppier? Rather Ripped.

Really can't go wrong with any of their albums tho.

On track 6 and so far really enjoying it... love their more mellow and melodic sound with just a hint of agression every now and then

Yea mon SY is essential, the guitar riffs and textures they were using in the 80's was really something else.

Not an 80's joint, I just love this song. The tremolo picking
