Bought a cheap $30 ssd, hopefully the hdd is the issue

Won’t turn on?

It turns on, but ps4 freezes then the black screen comes up. Then it restarts and checks the storage, then it boots up and does it all over again. Started yesterday hopefully it’s a fault hard drive. Can’t believe this s*** f***ing up already at only 1.5 years of use

Did you buy it second hand cuz I’ve had my ps4 since 2016 and haven’t had an issue could be the hard drive but I would Sony tech support

Bought it during Xmas sale brand new. My warranty is up and Sony not taking anything in for repairs. I’ll try to email them tomorrow but yeah this shouldn’t be happening

Sounds like a corrupt upgrade.

Start your PS4 in safe mode and reinstall the OS.

What’s error code you get?

I did lol. I reset my ps4, wiped the hdd after copying my saved data. It still freezes. I’m going to do a complete wipe with a fresh OS install next

A lot of them. Most regarding system storage.
I booted up safe mode and hit the initialize and resinsstall system software. Looks to be running smoothly for now. Hopefully I can cancel my ssd order

Fresh os install didn’t work. Ssd coming in tomorrow, hopefully that fixes it
