Nioh 1 is probably harder than 2 because theres this block counter feature thats in nioh 2 thats a new mechanic that can parry a yokais attack.

Character customization vs main character.

although nioh 1 has more weapon selection than nioh 2

story doesn't really matter in nioh 2 and theres just one cameo with the main char in nioh 1 and its only in 1-2 missions at the end.
