Another day of no dualsense edge release date
lol at this point I don't think you see it release til right before christmas with information about it going out around the time of God of War. Either that or info about it goes out right around release of Call of duty
Why the f*** does PS5 keep telling me I have 80gb in games and apps when I don’t
it keeps giving me a glitch when I start COD beta of asking for 8 more gigs of space. Update probably caused some sort of storage reading glitch
They better show something, do we know any future games outside of Spiderman and Wolverine?
Yeah... I hope they don't think those "State of Play" shows are enough. We need a proper one... You know a PS Showcase Sony :/
That depends on if you mean 1st or 2nd party exclusives... If 1st party ones so nope so far until that PS Showcase happens as some games are been worked on but not revealed so far and I think they should be good. I expect them to be revealed during late 2022 or some time in 2023 hopefully

Yeah I mean 1st Party, I know we have some Square Enix games to look forward to but I'm worried they don't have anything else for the near future.

Well in this case... Don't expect much. I think if they do a PS Showcase so should there at least be 2-3 1st party games and then a lot of 2nd party and 3rd party games which means more than 2-3 exclusive games if you add the 2nd party games as well.
I still expect that PS Showcase to be better than the 2022 State of Play events but since they've been showing some good games on them lately so do I wonder what's left to show besides some more trailers of these games plus some surprises at least... I guess we'll know between October-December 2022 hopefully
From Tom Henderson:
`The PlayStation 5 is set to get a unique overhaul in the middle of FY 2023, with the new console launching around September 2024, say sources.
Sources familiar with Sony’s plans have shared details under the condition of anonymity outlining the next iteration of the PlayStation 5. It’s been suggested that this new console will completely replace the A, B, and C chassis that have been in production since the console’s launch.
The console, currently named the D chassis PlayStation 5, will have almost identical hardware to the existing consoles already on the market.
The most surprising new feature of the new this new PS5 though, is that the console will have a detachable disk drive. The detachable disc drive will be connected to the PlayStation 5 using an extra USB-C port on the back of the console. It’s understood that this new PlayStation 5 console will be sold on its own, or, in a bundle with the detachable disc drive. It’s also understood that the disc drives can also be purchased separately, so, if it gets busted, there’s no need to buy an entirely new console.
Sources have implied that although the new detachable disc drive is portable, it will not ruin the aesthetics of the console and will attach to it without looking external, presumably meaning the new PlayStation 5 will look similar to the existing model. However, the new detachable disc drive could entail that the new iteration of the PlayStation 5 will be slimmer and lighter, which is something Sony has been trying to implement effectively with its latest PS5 models.
It’s understood that Sony is anticipating producing 18.5 million units of the new PlayStation 5 console in FY 2023 and only 12 million units of the A-C chassis consoles as they begin to be phased out.`

Wonder if the detachable drive will work on existing digital ps5’s

Unfortunately there’s no usb-c on the back of the current ps5 so you’d probably have to plug it in the front or you could buy a usb-a to usb-c adapter
But I feel like it should be possible nonetheless, seeing as how this new ps5 and the old one will technically run on the same software
Weird that they’d release a ps5 with no internal upgrade 4 years after the og ps5
Especially considering what a leap they did with the ps4 pro which was also about 4 years after the og ps4

Not anymore lol
But yeah they were in 2020 and 2021 just because of the pandemic causing supply chain issues
But no, it would be the same price. New products come in at the same price. It’s just like an iPhone. In 2022 the iPhone 14 is 799 and in 2024 the iPhone 16 will be 799 and the older models go down in price
Not anymore lol

yeah but still not cheap enough to put in consoles and have them be same price
iphones remain that price cause scale and being a ridiculously profitable company, or cause they wanna keep it that price. we're talking consoles bro lol
i just think consoles are already at that point of diminishing returns between the usual price point and tech/performance

I was just using iPhone as one example, that’s how all tech works
That’s why ps3, ps4 and ps5 all launched around the same price
GPU shortage is completely over, now they’re having the opposite problem
Not anymore lol

But that’s the point I’m making, this new 2022 series is the same price as what the rtx3080/ 3090 cost when they were brand new back in 2018 or whenever
then a few years the 4000 series go down in price and another new series gets announced, it’s just the cycle of tech

For the 3080 $700 one was 10gb and the $1200 was 12gb
4080 is similar maybe adjusted slightly for inflation
The 3090/4090 price is also the same right?

The 1200 one was the 3090 and a completely different card…
The 4090 is launching at $1599 btw another $400 price jump

My bad
You’re talking about the 3080ti
The ram is besides the point it changes every year
The fact is the leaked internal specs leaked pre 4000 series release.
What is known as the 4080 12 gb edition WAS the 4070 and and internally referenced as 4070. The 4080 16 gb edition is the real 4080.
It’s not just a difference in ram, it’s an entirely different die. They are different cards and nvidia rebranded it to avoid backlash of the price increase
