Im finally out in the snow on Calisto Protocol and so far,its a pretty good game imo. I can see why it got the scores it got tho, graphics are probably the peak of Unreal Engine 4 but the actual game plays like its straight of the PS2/Xbox era
Hardware Freaks, do these new PS5 revision rumours have any substance to them?
No the PS5 Pro isn't out until Holiday 2024 or some time in 2025. So... This is about the 2023 version of the PS5 which I guess will kill off the PS5 Digital Edition since the Blu-ray disc drive will be detachable and can therefore be bought separately so either at the same time you do get a PS5 (2023 version) or later now.
And well what about the PS5 Slim? No one knows if it's also coming in 2023 or not but if you ask me so would I think it's more likely in Holiday 2024 or some time in 2025 as well like the PS5 Pro. But yeah I guess we'll know for sure what's up during June-September 2023
If I buy the digital PS4 version of Horizon Zero West, is the ps5 upgrade still free?

yes
there’s no new revision of the ps5 coming lol. not for a while
No PS5 Pro or PS5 Slim in 2023 yes... But there's something coming in 2023 still which should be around September-November 2023. Which is either one with some very small changes or a PS5 Digital Edition which you can add a Blu-Ray drive to if you want to later on... That's how it's described so far but we'll see in the Summer of 2023 how it'll exactly be.
But until then... So would I recommend everyone just to make sure that the PS5 they do get is the 2022 version of it or the 2021 version of it at least so the 2020 version of it should be avoided of course since what's newer should usually have less issues and last longer. But yeah no-one should expect a PS5 Pro or even PS5 Slim in 2023 but I guess those should launch in either Holiday 2024 or Holiday 2025 though
Just a thought, but i think Sony and MS will drop disc all together in the future and focus on digital, but settle on an expensive, very new format for physicals, thats fast enough to read games in real time again, without needing to be put on an SSD(and can actually take downloaded data like updates/DLC)
I've been seeing this Sony format for the longest, its called Archive Disc. Imagine physicals getting dropped from Walmart,Target etc and the only place they could be found is specialty stores/online in limited quantities,on these

It'd be such a big shift in gaming, but these things being the last form of physical games would make them automatic collectors items from Day 1,couldn't imagine the price tho, even by the time PS6 releases.
Jedi Fallen Order is finally coming to PS Plus in January
Game is literally $7 right now lol

And now it’s $0. I had a feeling it was gonna drop on ps plus since it’s a 3 year old game.

True, and Fallen Order is a great game too so...another reason not to buy EA Play

i truly hope not. if there arent any 3rd party marketplaces that sell playstation digital games, then its going to be a terrible time

I imagine digital will probably be the main way to purchase games but physicals will take a dramatic shift in how/where to buy them and format. I mention archive disc cause these things can take huge amounts of data and they can take huge amounts of data, imagine being able to buy a blank of one of these and burning multiple games on them from your Playstation, you can take them anywhere, and the games just, play.
I don't think people would entirely oppose the idea of big cartridges as physicals either, cause it'd be such a departure from the norm,it'd be refreshing. And then the prospect of games and updates getting bigger and being able to store all DLC,updates, saves etc on the cartridge. It'll be different forsure but Archive Disc would be super expensive as a gaming format.
Got a PS5
might split my time between Demon Souls and Returnal 2nite
Have yet to play Returnal, been playing Cyberpunk and Gran Turismo 7 a bunch, good thing i renewed my Plus Premium sub tho,I'll check it out sooner or later
I need to hear from ND’s other team regarding a Factions 2 status update.

Im guessing they'll drop info about Factions over the few months that the 1st season TLOU airs. It's still nuts to me that Sony didn't do a Playstation Showcase this year though.
bro i was seeing how much it would cost for sony to repair this old ps4 i’ve had in my room for years and theses mf are charging $110
like i can literally just buy a new one for extra hundred
This gen is ass af
I think 2023 is when things start to really cook for Sony tbh
