Exactly... But I guess we won't know who Sony is acquiring next until this whole ABK thing is over at least so I am not surprised if we don't hear anything until around mid-late 2024 or even early 2025. But whatever Sony is planning right now is something I hope is good

In hindsight Bend studios, Sucker punch, housemarque and bluepoint definitely should have a project to tease this year it’s been a few years since their last releases

That recent showcase was all the third party partners needing all eyes to be on their game cause what better way to market than thru sony atp since E3 is dead and summer games fest is crowded this year, They can turn that L around easily if this rumoured one is mainly first party titles lmao so we can just hope

Yeah that including good 3rd party games and only very few indies/PS VR 2 games that are WORTH IT. If they can at least kind of do that so will the next one be better... If they do one in 2023 though :/

I miss when game companies were willing to show super early gameplay that was work in progress vs just CGI but it is what it is. Gamers are hyper critical and games change so much in development

Highkey fam, in hindsight I should’ve just waited for a Pro model obviously didn’t know how this gen would have panned out thus far but I’m pretty sure demons souls and returnal were the only exclusives I’ve really enjoyed 2.5 years in. Two incredible games (returnal moreso) tbf but I don’t know if those alone justified a brand-new console purchase for myself

To be fair we do have FF16/spiderman/DS2 coming soon…we should finally be eating to close the year off and heading into 2024 about damn time

I was kind of expecting this too but a chance came to get a ps5 on amazon and I was like f*** it I will try and worst come to worst I can find a friend who wants one. I feel like much of what i want will kick in closer to the pro model. This activision blizzard deal combined with Covid has delayed a lot of this gen

I mean to be fair people both on here and in real life friends or randoms would hype up the idea of owning a PS5. When in reality its okay to just be chill on it.

I still need to finish the first lol I got that s*** on Steam, PS5 Disc, PS5 Plus, epic games store for free and have basically started each copy to differing levels. I need to beat it and Elden Ring so my back log is steady for gaming companies to chill rest of year. Game I beat last was Last of Us 2. I would play after work. Sometimes I am in mood to game after a day of gaming at work . Sometimes I just want something chill lol like anime madden or soon street fighter.

I think I will get Final Fantasy at launch, play some diablo with friend and work through backlog though. I need to upgrade to 4k tv again. So been getting ahead on bills and stuff so I am ready for when the visual games drop. That would help my immersion

I feel you brother, trust me. totk as amazing as a gaming experience as I’ve had in a while I’ve probably been playing every other or every third day, so I fully get gaming not being a priority.

if you’re saving up I would probably just wait until the full slate of 2023 models are out - TV updates are so minimal year to year that you can still get incredible 2021/22 OLED models that are 4K/HDMI2.1 compatible but for significantly less

and if I had a recommendation for your next playstation game to play following tlou, it would 100% be death stranding. whether you end up playing it on pc or ps doesn’t matter but for sure run that widescreen mode the structure of the game perfectly lends it to being played in 15-20 minute chunks too so would be an ideal game to kick back and chill after work. I get that your job as a game tester probably means that you likely don’t want to game more after a long day but try it out for a couple days and see if you feel anything

and dw fam we’re running street fighter next weekend for sure very excited

Seeing people play Tears of the Kingdom design wise has brought me joy. Because for too long we have gotten "open" worlds but like there is an exact way they want you to win or fail. So players don't really have to communicate or immerse . Hearing coworkers think of how to do a puzzle or navigate the land together is like its not a coop game but cool to see everyone working together. Sharing secrets. S*** even the duplication glitch lol as much as I jokingly side eye it. Cool to see a game where everyone tries to break it to win and it gives tools to do so

My current tv is 1080p. The 4k tv I had where someone was dealing with like a line on tv it reacted funny one time I went out. lol Basically just been watching tv sales and chilling while stacking money working some overtime. No major rush. Death stranding I was enjoying and have headphones now so about to just start chipping away at it on PS or steam or both lol.

SF weekend . Lol I have never played a game as much as a testing level. Also testing wise I play it in a way to break every possible things you guys would do, but will be so rewarding seeing fans enjoy it and the polish of it.

Street Fighter is really this close its unreal I remember seeing the first trailer still

Yeah I kind of feel like I should have waited on getting a new TV and PS5 until the PS5 Pro drops but I like to own every new PlayStation console so I was like why not? Especially with us not yet knowing if this PS5 Pro console will come with Blu-Ray disc drive or not as this new PS5 model coming this year might be an indication of how the PS5 Pro and PS5 Slim will be like and well I do also want to have a regular PS5 so I can compare both the regular and Pro version of a game and to also avoid early adopter issues and just game on my regular PS5 until all of the issues have been fixed.

Other than that so is there enough games to play right now whether it's exclusive games or 3rd party ones. As there's still games like Final Fantasy 16, Spider-Man 2, Death Stranding 2, Stellar Blade, Wolverine, Rise of The Ronin etc. to look forward to between 2023-2024 plus some more like Tekken 8 and what else will be revealed between 2023-2024 that is exclusive, has some exclusive content or Sony just has the marketing rights to
