games not taking full advantage are struggling to get 30fps in the fidelity modes lol
Cause they suck 😤
@NobodyWins @Kr0niic
lol why is he like this
Gonna stop reading resetera threads after the OP. Gamers apparently severely lack common sense and reading back to back comments from idiots is aggravating and pointless.
The base PS5 has 8k advertised on the box geniuses
The PSQ has a gap between the controller and screen for ergonomics/comfort ffs
@op
Ps5 pro specs. Expected November 2024

They should really focus on doing 4K @ 60FPS before doing a f***in 8K mode lmao
This gen was really sold on lies bruh
why in the hell would anyone buy a PS5 Pro?! them marketing 8k AGAIN tells you everything you need to know.

Sony fanboys going to buy it day 1
This thing is launching around GTA6 and wolverine. You’re playing ff16 with frame dips and Xbox players are playing starfield at 30fps. A pro model is objectively stronger and allows for more headroom for consistent 60fps with 4K without sacrifices. No one is forcing you to but it tho

While all of what you are saying is true. They haven't even fully pushed the PS5 . A lot of what they are dropping is on old engines , poorly optimized. FF16 example its 60fps in combat but in the open world is where it more struggles and a lot of the open world isn't all that.
PS5 Pro always optional yes but GTA 6 will have to run well on base model PS5 Pro, a variety of pcs. At the end of the day its not a PS5 Pro exclusive and devkits for PS5 Pro aren't even out yet for most so whatever game coming is still made with PS5 launch console in mind

Phil Spencer said that Series X is the Pro model tho lol. It'll be interesting to see how MS responds to a PS5 Pro but I think they expect Sony to price alot of customers out with this console,so their not even worried about it.
Its perfectly fine for people to be upset that they were sold the idea of a console with 4k 60fps and so far the only ps5 not cross gen major title is FFXVI and it has its performance issues. Especially cause those performance issues were clearly mentioned in previews and Square was just like "nah old build its smooth now "

Xbox is a different situation because if they do a pro model it still has to serve their lowest common denominator of Series S. I don't know how GTAVI or later gen titles like Fable or Perfect Dark will run on a series S or what magic there. But currently its required if you are coming to xbox series X you have to be able to run well enough on S . So that brings its own unique set of challenges there.
Pro Models when most of the games dropping are still on old engines that weren't made for this generation of consoles is weird.
Unreal Engine 5 games are just beginning to drop so needing a pro model so soon will inevitable throw some people off. Especially those that just bought the current model

I don't think Xbox wants to have three freakin tiers to their console lineup,and I don't blame them. They most likely know alot of devs aren't even utilizing all the tools this gen of consoles has to offer,and it seems MS is willing to stick with Series X vs a more expensive Pro model,and then have Series S hang in there as well.
Thats why I think a Pro model is just for the person that wants to be on the cutting edge,not for the normal consumer. PS5 still at $500,and the slim is looking to replace the digital at $400,with the PS4 still going strong. Im still heavily enjoying my PS5 and its games(graphics and gameplay wise).
Never thought about a Pro model until I seen it on the web,and it just seems totally unnecessary,but more power is more power.

Yeah I entirely agree. A Pro model for Xbox or PS would have to be sold at like 600$ and would in still in many cases be them taking a slight loss on the console. Also if s*** still has only so big of a SSD
. S*** adds up .
Throw an Dual Sense Edge in with the Pro Model

Dualsense edge,2TB SSD,20 gigs of GDDR6 RAM(which would be crazy cause,no game has really utilized this fast ass RAM yet) and slightly beefier GPU/CPU to get games to finally run 4K/60FPS flawlessly,would entice some people. But as long as most folks get the same game,with damn near same graphics at maybe 1440P/60FPS-1080p/30fps,most people will be satisfied with that.
And the thing is,only the most cutting edge of games even get down that low(like FF XVI). So a Pro Model is tricky,but a particular fanbase wants it.

Problem is for what we are asking they would have to charge like 700-800$
Again will be really tricky for them if it starts to be base model gets consistent struggles. I hope Spider Man 2 fully lands with solid frame rate which it should because graphics only so good

Power is there in the PS5. People can't even respect the fact that FF XVI is pushing Beowulf type graphics in a game,with an open world and grand scale. Not making excuses for Square but,I imagine in any other era,everyone would've been cool with a game this ambitious,at 30fps.
A Pro model not being a super premium option would be backwards cause,people want more,more and more,and Sony will want you to pay more money,for more.

I like FF16 but Horizon Forbidden West is levels above it graphically and still at a higher resolution at above 60fps

Have yet to actually play HFW but I take your word for it. That game does look great

Yeah, and only thing about that game is that it doesn't use Ray Tracing which FF16 does. Which is why I feel the PS5 Pro will be focused on enabling better performance with Ray Tracing which is supposedly the future of graphics
