In some hypothetical situation in 2050 you can’t download the game, your disc is probably scratched up by then anyways, and if you did use the disc you’d get like the pre launch day patch version of the game which is ass

But again even when a digital store is closed like with Wii and 3ds you can still download your previously purchased games

not even mentioning that producing and shipping hundreds of billions of plastic boxes and discs is taking a toll on the environment, digital future is better in every way

Sony as a company has taken down digital content including recently . "better for the environment" says grown a man hyped to get a PS5 Pro. Where you think the materials in the digital only ps5 pro come from. Yes some level of consumption is inevitable but pretending they are doing digital only for the environment and not gross profits is goofy.

i did a trade in with amazon for my ps4 pro the day before the ps5 was announced (they have a 30 day window to trade it in).

i got $325 for my ps4 pro to go towards my ps5 digital which was $400

if i waited a day id only get $250 in trade in credit. they lowered the credit.

Amazon likely a better move than gamestop but Ebay or a friend infinitely better move than both

Actually a good deal again I just think its crazy to sell what you know works to risk for something that has launch glitches to play games at a higher fps especially on a year where the best game isnt graphically demanding

they dont need to sell at a loss they have a giant install base. So they sell where the cost of parts and production is lower than MSRP

Swing and a miss, I prefer to keep my games, simple as that. If I’m unsure I want a game I get it on ps plus anyhow, I only buy something if it’s a series I love or I’ve watched enough to know it’s my thing. I’m not trying to sell my collection, but if you wanna collect physicals and make profit, do you.

In the end I’m guessing Sony and Nintendo both have some sort of console with a service in the near future that just plays everything ps1-ps6 and nes-ns2, maybe not the next console but the one after that. I feel like it’s inevitable.
