825GB is what will be left after the OS which is honestly really unfortunate. Let’s hope they were right about being able to make game files smaller

why are some games 100GB+ then?

is that cause of the PS4?

Even with that kind of space so is the NVME M.2 SSD inside the PS5 upgradeable and there's a rumored 2 TB PS5 coming as well!

Duplicate assets and weak file compression

I was under the impression the 825 gb was BEFORE the OS cause they never advertise the post OS size

still be under the impression until there's no source

edit: but the fact that its 825, keep the 25 in mind cause that is probably for the OS

but why even 825, so random it boggles me

    why not 1025?

Disc PS5 for me, never liked the idea of digital s***.

They can remove any game they want at any time like Xbox did with Forza Horizon 2 and 3.

    Plus I like collecting stuff

I'll buy the disc version only to have that 4K player for movies & PS4 BC.

But I'm pretty much done collecting anything physically.

Nope it'll be even less after the OS is installed... But why is that an issue when you can upgrade to a 2, 4 or 8 TB NVME M.2 SSD?

Save that 100$, buy a 10tb hard drive with it (on sale) and put 4k remux’s on it and stream them to your 4k tv via plex

Gotcha... Then so can you add a 500 GB or 1 TB one. Then so do you have over 1 TB's of storage.

You saying it like those things are cheap, they’re extremely expensive for price per GB

I have tons of HDD though.

I know if I cop the digital I'll soon regret not getting the disc version.

yeah but i mean, people buy stuff for convenience

why even bottle neck it with a random number of storage?

ofc we fanatics gon do some upgrades to it

but as a console itself, why not make it 1TB anyway

why specifically 825 is my question?

Those are probably gen3 drives Gen 4 is more expensive, don’t forget ps5 nvme drives have to match a certain speed

Exactly... Or well that depends on its speed as one that's slower than the PS5's NVME M.2 SSD isn't worth it.

@pimp The kind of technology they use makes it this weird. So if they want to make it more so will it have to be 1.65 TB's and not 2 TB's. Which makes that rumored PS5 with 2 TB's of space sound fake. But the upgradeable part of the PS5 storage doesn't have these kind of weird GB/TB numbers.

You can fill up a 1 tb easy, if you wanted 4 tb or more you paying as much or more than the console itself at current prices lol

Why do you need 4tb of games all installed at once tho
