This is a good criticism, I'm planning on not purchasing many games from launch til the end of 2021 but I assume I'm going to start managing memory space once it becomes an issue.

It's gonna be the same ease of use except the market can decide the price rather than one corporation. That's only ever a good thing. It's a given you'll have to wait to get one to spec but thats what happens when you have the fastest storage system in the world.

There was a "leaked" price of $219 USD. It definitely will not be cheaper than a similar SSD, considering it is a custom form factor and both Microsoft and Seagate will want to be making money off it, alongside the fact that they have no competition for it since it's proprietary.

I will say the only advantage I see for this is that consumers don't have to spend time researching which one to buy, but if Sony is able to get some sort of "ps5 certified" label on some SSDs it won't rly matter.

if every game was God of War/ Red Dead Redemption 2 tier it'd be a different story

You can use it to move PS5 game to and from the internal storage, or you can play PS4 games straight off it. You cant play PS5 games straight off it

Honestly probably just cyberpunk and COD even if they're not technically ps5 games they're close enough. Maybe Spiderman:MM if reviews are good

as someone who has never owned a Playstation, and would only buy a PS5 for all the story games I've missed over the years, could someone let me know how Sony's backwards compatibility works?

If i get a PS5, will I be able to play the games I missed from PS3 onwards? are there 4K/upgraded versions of them available/will there be?

PS4 games will pretty much all be able to play on PS5, but no PS3 games. However, if you get a PS5 and PS Plus (online service) you get access for free to a bunch of PS4 exclusives like Uncharted 4, God of War, The Last of Us, Days Gone etc. You can also buy the Uncharted Collection which is games 1-3 remastered for PS4 and will be able to play those on the PS5

Still don't know if PS4 games will play better on PS5 (4k, better frame rate etc...)
