This why I ordered both on Amazon until I make up my mind on which to settle with.
you can do that?
you can do that?
Yeah, Amazon won't charge you till they ship. So to play it safe, I pre-ordered both till I decide to cancel one.

Only reason I'm having a tough time deciding is because aesthetically the digital version looks so much better + I decided to go all digital with the games.
But the disc version, I have 4K Blu-ray movies I never seen in 4K, so I can still use the 4K player for that alone.

The thing is I don't really know what their used game policy is gonna be like. It's possible that they'll block the whole used game market that's going on (making it so that you'll only be able to play the disc on 1 console) and it's going to make the point of buying the disc version obsolete for me

True, but I think that's gonna cause an uproar.
Remember in PS3 when all games were giving you a code just so you can use the game online? That was tarded and it was stopped.
Another thing, physical games lose so much value after you purchase it. I have so many physical games that if I decide to ever sell them, I wouldn't be making anything.

100% they won’t do that, Microsoft tried this gen and they got ripped apart

Yeah I agree, but the value depreciating is also helpful if you want to get games for cheap after a few months of them releasing though. Even tho I honestly don't mind paying full price for a game if I'm excited for it. The really good games only come out like 3-4 times a year

It feel like at this point they don't give a f***. They know people are gonna cop either way

Same boat, I don't mind paying a little bit extra for digital just for the convenience alone.
Physical games for the last 5-6 years really just a "registration key" to unlock the game on your console.
Barely does the disc run anything, it's all installed on your hard drive in a compressed format.
At any point Sony or the publishers can cancel that key and your physical copy will be just as void as a digital copy.
If that makes sense.

It feels like at this point the industry is moving away from physical copies they cant control, and that they're aiming towards subscription based distribution (like Netflix but for games) with their PS+ premium s***. So it does kinda put me off the disc version a bit
Walmart still has another pre-order scheduled on the 22nd don’t they?
heard the same

Wish I got the digital version. Stuck with physical right now, going to hold out hope on preordering a digital though:
I see what you did there
Digital you can play offline as well unless it's a PS+ free game.
Day 1 patches aren't the only thing that's not on the disc.
Devs be making you download the complete game just to install a patch these days.
I’m willing to wait on Amazon. I don’t need it launch date, as long as my order doesn’t get cancelled, I’ll be fine.
The question is; how long will we have to wait if we don't get a system at launch?
So did everyone get that email from Amazon about not receiving their orders at release date or just a certain amount of people? Wonder if once they start shipping the orders how they'll prioritize who gets their orders first?
There's people that still have PT on their hard drives.
I think you need to set your PS to primary for it to retain all the digital licenses.
Regardless of my point, I don't want physical to die. It's more of a space problem for me, since I've collected a ton of s*** throughout the years.
