It’s becoming less of a problem as time goes on obviously but like kroniic said tbh I’d rather say f*** that and go for QLED or wait for Mini LED
yeah i keep looking at tvs but i feel like i should just wait it out a bit. the console generation is just now starting so even if next year i get a new tv i’ll be enjoying it for years to come
every year i say ill wait for Mini LED..
its been about 4 years
Lowkey you can wait all you want for the perfect TV but there's always gonna be a better one the next year.

always
If I had a 4K I would've said f*** it and waited till next year but I couldn't stand playing on a monitor anymore.
And the TV I had was a Samsung from 2012.
What y’all really need to wait for is any tv with hdmi 2.1, that is the only future proof display at this point

i was looking into that lg nanocell but apparently it’s ass. so i’m on the fence.

LG CX got it all.
So I'm gonna be futureproof'd for a minute.

No Dolby Vision
Yall think PS5 drop on target will be as chill as the xbox from yesterday. Did a trial run to see if I could get xbox in cart and it was pretty easy.
No Dolby Vision
That s*** makes me so mad.. f*** an HDR format war 🤦🏽
Makes everything even more complicated
Canada fam, any updates from Best Buy? I feel like a total cuck rn, eb got my Xbox to me in 12 hours
No Dolby Vision
still the best non oled tv
Burn In Fearmonger
Big facts, the tech on TVs now is so much better than it was a few years ago. Unless you’re playing the same s*** for thousands of hours you should be fine

Oh you mean like using the same UI on Xbox or ps5 for hundreds of hours in the next 7 years
People always say recently that the tech has advanced but we haven’t even had enough time with the TVs to see how bad the burn in would be yet it needs time
Your CX is cool a year after you bought it. What about 3? Literally nobody knows yet bc how could you know how many TVs will have burn in then? Burn in isn’t a short term problem it’s a long term one
Burn in is a valid concern especially if you game a lot which has lots of static HUDs and general UI that will be the same for hundreds of hours
Having to remember to turn off your TV or make sure you don’t fall asleep with it on sucks. The algorithms get better and wipe it and turn it off but that’s just a pain
Paying a premium and then having to worry about your TV is kinda annoying
damn the spiderman remaster looks so good. rarely ever impressed by these kind of comparison videos but it's a huge improvement. wanna play it all again solely to see how it all looks different.
like if spiderman ps4 never dropped, and spiderman remaster (ps5) was just an early ps5 game i'd be impressed.

CX has a pixel refresher that runs after you turn the TV off after you had it on for a couple of hours.
It also has screen shift that prevents static images to stay stuck on the screen.
Also has logo luminance to turn down the HUDs on the screen.
I'm sure next year's model will have even more burn in prevention features.
Sidenote, I'm also not gonna be an a****** and just leave the TV on all day as background noise. It'll be off unless I'm using it.

sounds cool but like i said nobody knows how it will hold up across the board in 2-3 years. it sucks with OLED that you pay a premium and then have to worry

I think it'll be fine, for me.
Regardless, this is why I spent the extra money for that 5 year warranty at Best Buy.
If it craps out in year 4, I can call them and they'll probably, most likely hook me up with the latest model.
