hello mate
you goin to the event this year? / have you ever been?
haven't. usually go to Melb in winter for the football instead
know many who have though and all love it especially during peak Rafa/Fed days. it is a great city to watch sport, the whole precinct is awesome
90’s class of players going out so sad this slam, losing to the teenagers and old ass monfils
this gotta be the worst choke ever in tennis. TP has set point on his serve in both the first 2 sets and fumbles both and ends up getting cooked in the tiebreak to lose both sets :
if it wasn’t so Windy in Melbourne I would be so sure of a Novak win here, still lean that way, but just hoping for a good match either way

he frustrates me so much. he has sinner and alcaraz level highs and then will vomit allover himself in the same set.

yeah dude needs a sports psychologist or something, too talented to be throwing in performances like that, and looking at how the novak - Zverev match just played out, there’s a chance TP would be a slam finalist rn
Sad to see Djokovic go out like that, the elite level is still there but his ranking being so low means he’ll have to go through impossible draws to win the title and no way can his body hold up for that anymore

yup. guy was up a set and a break on carlos @ wimby and the wheels just came all the way off. hopefully he can figure it out because he's easily the most exciting american player on tour when he has it going.

I think he still has one more stars align slam in him. I think he will ultimately end up retiring at next year's AO.

hope you’re right, but unless the WADA appeal leads to a ban for Sinner, I just can’t see it tbh old man has now withdrawn from 2 of the last 4 slams with injury, the alcaraz + sinner combo too much for him
we thinking sinner winning this open?
it's zverev's best shot though
i still dont think Sinner can handle long matches, he was cramping against Shelton just because the rallies were longer than his previous matches, if Zverev makes this physical I think he will win, but he needs to avoid the passive tennis that he always falls back on in big matches, and he was already looking passive against Nole in that first set so
Really wasn’t expecting Sinner to outplay Zverev this much from the baseline
folks will praise Jannik's level but in reality Sascha just didn't show up again.
