Can someone explain why Wimbledon cant be played in August or later? Just read an article that said 'due to the requirements for grass courts'.

What does that actually mean?

That they dont have the staff, equipment, logistics etc to put things in place for the event to take place around that time, including setting up the grass and taking care of it.

The uncertainty around the situation prevents them from formulating a timeline of sorts for planning out the tournament and making it happen
