Serena proving she should’ve got rid of Mouratoglou years ago, she needed someone like Stubbs to help her mentally, her game was never the problem post baby it was the mental roadblocks.
She’s swinging freely for the first time in decades at this slam and surprising everybody - she would’ve skated past 24 slams if she swapped Patrick for Stubbs after she gave birth.. but whatever 🙄

Serena probably could’ve did better with more time, and she does obv think that, but she knows she just ain’t got it to compete at a Major-winning level anymore

If she wanted to play Aus and even give all the slams one last go tho what's stopping her? I think it definitely stings and she's rethought so many scenarios in the past few months, but i also feel she understands when its time to say bye

She’s a 40 year old woman that wants more kids. She said it’s basically career or family, and even though she still wants the career, she chose family.

I whole heartedly believe she thinks she could compete more, but this is pretty much the most focused she’s been on tennis in years by her own admission, and it was in part, bc of the occasion
I think once she sits down and gets back to her regularly scheduled programming, she’ll realize why she wanted to call it anyway
