"Wouldn't Leave"my fav for sure. Raw thoughts
The reason I rate it so highly is because it's the one time in his whole discography we see a restrained Ye. He forced himself to whittle the project down to 7 songs and it shows in the song selection. We usually get "too much" from Kanye - his whole id is like, blurting out all his thoughts no filter. On Ye, we got a refined, filtered Ye, and every bar on here mattered. (IMO)
i think ye for me is probably rawest album his done, dealing with his mental state and the repercussions of that on his family life. The album does great job tbh for me in minimalism which is something i praise yeezus for also which kinda stark contrast between manic energy of pablo and now donda. I think its such interesting opener of killing you where this monologue of his mental insecurities are shown in full display and preps you for the record then hits you with a beat switch with a dark bass line with the first proper rapping of the album which borders arrogant like yeezus. It creates interesting juxtaposition between his manic self & calm self
only song i don't like on ye is all mine
actually you really got me thinking about yeezus x ye comparison its kinda correct
no wonder why i enjoy ye
Best since at least Yeezus. Maybe MBDTF. Only song I skip is the pop smoke track(and sometimes Jesus Lord cause its so long lol)
SHEEEEEEEEESH
I gotta think on that best since part personally cause I love his discography so much
Another real one realizing this got no filler!!!
I always let the whole album run so I don't know track times or even all the song names but just checked and seeing Jesus Lord at nine minutes
Btwn both parts...twenty minutes of this album being Jesus Lord
Could have been AOTY if trimmered a bit. Believe What I Say could have been every ig story or whip during all the summer, pity the album came out too late.
Damn that's still big love
BWIS gonna be huge anyways, wait on it

Every day a new song is stuck in my head. Yesterday it was "devil lay down devil lay down, this that level make devils pray now"
Today its "did those ideas really ever come to life!"

Ignore lines like this to spam the corny/bad lines any Ye project will have

Might be in the minority but I didn't find "dustin he a offman, maury the father"'etc. cringe, the humour he displayed in this album was pretty clever ๐๐

That's just Ye
S*** hilarious
I f***in love Ye , its so underrated imo. KTT hates it though. Always get attacked on here for putting it in my top 3
top 5 for me
The New Workout plan one of my favorite Kanye songs, Hoffman not gonna take me out the paint when it comes to corn

kanye always has those type bars its basically expected at this point

Been that way since CD but fans have nostalgia glasses. Dude literally said he needed Jesus like Kelly needed Regis and said it seriously
The auntie line on Roses would've gotten as much backlash as the bleached a****** line on FSMH if LR dropped today lol

Yup
MFs couldn't stop crying about SWEET AND SOUR SAUCEEEEE but now they'll prop Yeezus as a musical landmark day in and day out

Yo you just made me realize how corny the Reggie line is
but I've always loved it
True on the auntie part smfh
That line is soooooo perfect for the song and the scene he painting and having a crack of joy creep in
Yup

im in it is amazing t
Fantano can't review music anymore. Barely talked about half the songs on the album, and started out with the negatives. Didn't even talk about the ending on Jesus Lord lmao bro's spitting out reviews like a chinese factory, he sounded like he wanted to get over with it as fast as possible and move on to the next album

Yes!! Completely agree with all. Except I loved All Mine. I'm a Jeremih stan and he def ghostwrote that hook
How you feel about TCD and LR?
Never felt like MBDTF/Yeezus were leagues ahead like a lot of people and that they're all classics.
I got into Ye when Graduation dropped and so starting out I'd already seen him switch up his sound from the TCD days. I never disliked TCD+LR persay, but they were definitely always my least-listened Kanye records. As Ye went on to continue changing his sound with 808s, MBDTF and Yeezus they stayed that way, my least-listened to albums and just by default came lower on my list.
In the years since I've revisited them and they're absolute classic Kanye records. But if I'm making a ranking of his disco they still come lower on the list. Late Registration has gradually come up my list though, it's probably around #6 now if i made a list.
It's just so hard to make a ranking of a prolific artist like Ye when you f*** with literally all his albums. TCD somehow comes at #10 or #11 on my list and yet it's an absolute classic.
