difference is tho as i mentioned, even if it's immigration-related, it's still foreign policy in a way as its understood - federal govt issues immigration, not states, so it's a lot easier to manipulate rulings of within perceptive reason. with stuff like this which is direct policymaking its way more volatile. remember how quickly trump distanced himself from sessions after sessions wanted to go after federal marijuana charges for states?
I would also think it's stupid to do it for this ruling when it most likely won't stand. It should be a last resort tactic.
That was quick

Was this about the Tennessee reps? Was just wondering if there was an update on that

One got reinstated yesterday

How/why and is it moving that way for the others that got ousted too?
Extremely curious to see how the abortion pill ruling(s) go today. Is there no thread for it?
Won’t this result in two things:
1. Make those underage be less likely to report incidents because it would result in the abuser getting killed (like maybe a family member)?
And/Or
2. Increase instances in which the abuser decides to just kill the child afterwards because at that point if the child speaks up the abuser is essentially dead?
I’d expect an increase in child disappearances.

This Florida death penalty law was absolutely passed to target trans parents and doctors giving gender affirming care.
Florida is legit becoming a dangerous state to live in if you’re LGBTQ+, and the fact that this seems to be treated as some route thing by the federal government and media doesn’t really bode well.

This why people that think DeSantis isn’t worse than Trump are wild
The settlement of this Fox News v Dominion Voting System case is scary. You’ve got a major news corporation caught red handed lying to its viewers and the only penalty is a $787.5 million lawsuit

basically just the cost of doing business at that price
Genuinely curious how the abortion pill Supreme Court case is even still going. I know Alito and Thomas are like the type to not give a s*** about their actual job, but I feel like the other conservatives on the court have at least shown a minimal degree of care towards trying to not just have all of their rulings be blatantly for their own political preferences.
Don’t see how this case has standing

well this WAS a civil suit and dominion i guess got something out of it that they saw as justice
they did get hit with another suit as well
Funny, I was just thinking the other day about how Feinstein has been one of my two senators for my entire life and what a damn shame that is because of how horrible she is, and now I see this
Just die already
EDIT: I just sent Feinstein’s office an email requesting that she resign immediately because she has not demonstrated the mental and physical capacity to continue representing the people of California. I encourage anyone else here that lives in California to do the same! Link below:
So we now apparently have two openly corrupt SC justices that, let’s be honest, won’t be going anywhere.
Isn’t that just a perfect glaring indicator that our entire system of law and order is complete and utter bullshit if the highest judges in the land can just get away with illegal actions scott-free?
What hope is there at that point? How can you be a high school history teacher informing students of our system of government and be taken seriously by them at this point?
