I’m sure people will continue to vote Dem the same way people continued to vote GOP post-Obama but the party has really nothing left in terms of policy or presentation. The same way under Obama all the GOP offered was cancellation of Obama-era policies (before the tea party rewrote US politics anyway), Dems somehow have even less to offer - with even less figureheads - than 2016 or 2020. I genuinely don’t understand why anyone would vote for Dems other than some argument about harm reduction or hating republicans. They aren’t offering any material economic policies, they aren’t even focusing on healthcare/family support/etc anymore, and they sure as hell don’t have a distinct foreign policy approach. I guess people can vote for them if they just want diversity policies reinstated and Trump’s gender EO repealed? Great.
Privatization of Medicare, social security, mail delivery and education are nothing, I suppose

But this is what I mean. They aren’t actually doing anything besides saying “well that sucks and is bad and we wouldn’t do that”. Like that’s great, but you guys just got historically destroyed in an election running on not doing this. “We won’t do what he’s doing” isn’t a policy and voters increasingly seem to have an awareness of that.

But we haven't even begun to feel the effects of their actions. Like if Wisconsin actually gets their power cut by Canada, or if farmers lose half their workforce

well i mean, i agree if the country actually begins collapsing then theoretically yes that's easy to run against, but i think that's a big assumption. we've had some absolute presidential disasters that didn't move the needle

The last term was marked by inaction because they genuinely didn't think they would win and had no clue what they were doing. Jared Kushner was asking Obama's WH staff how many people would stay lol. But now they have the entire playbook ready and seem to be following it to a T

You might be actually stupid if you think Canada has any sort of leverage or power against the US

Enlighten me then Mr energy expert?
In 2022, about 99% of the natural gas imported to the United States came from Canada.
Hmmmmm

Enlighten me then Mr energy expert?
If I really have to explain to you why the US, one of the most energy independent nations in the world, does not need a minor country like Canada to provide a negligible amount of natural gas, then you’re definitely an idiot.
Please tell me you’re joking
Just so I have your condescending point down, Canada could not issue counter tariffs on natural gas exports?

They can, and they will. It won’t do anything to us. They will break far sooner than we will.

Almost 25 billion in gas is a negligible amount now
