Been getting into Gears 5 since it's on game pass, having a lotta fun despite not hearing much about it at release

Just got a Xbox Series X and game pass so many games I’m never buying a game again.

is the xbox elite series 2 controller really that poorly made? Im wanting to get one but I hear a lot about how that s*** breaks so quick

I’ve had two and will probably need a third. Between another one or a scuf or battle beaver. All of them have downfalls or bad reviews. Seems like that’s just the industry how a days unfortunately. The one I’ve had now I’ve had for about two years and there’s not really much wrong with it other than the adjuster for the trigger pull had the rubber casing fall off of it (which is minuscule compared to what was wrong with the first one I had.) apparently if you buy the one that has a yellow mark on the box they’re newer and have the problems fixed from what I read. Microsoft has also extended the warranty out of the box from 90 days to one year and for the most part if you’re going to have problems with it you’re going to have it right out of the box and you can just return it to the store you bought it from. Best Buy and GameStop are good for this. They’re on sale right now through the Microsoft store and best buy will match that price.

hmm interesting. Have you used a battle beaver? I was thinking of getting one of those too.

Never had one, just wanted to try something different, same thing with the scuf. Was thinking of getting the scuf instinct pro but have read that they have some of the same issues. Battle beaver build and shipping times take forever. Have read that as of recently some people are waiting up to 6 months for their controller to ship because of the chip shortage. Series 2 controller I can go to Best Buy and get tomorrow. I believe someone posted a photo of the box with the yellow mark a few pages back. I’ll see if I can find it and link it.

how is the paddle placement when holding the controller? Like is it comfortable and not in the way?

Doesn’t get in the way for me and feels comfortable. The scuf instinct pro does look like it might feel a little more comfortable because they’re actually built into the controller but I like I can actually remove the paddles on the elite series 2 if I want. The instinct pro you can’t remove anything and they’re always there so you have to unbind the command on them. I also don’t like waiting for shipping and for the instinct pro I’d have to buy a rechargeable battery pack and charger for it. Elite series 2 comes with that already.

yeah i bought gold from Turkey which was the cheapest at the time while using a VPN and it worked but once you buy the gold make sure you disable the VPN before converting that to gamepass
