Abel talked about the fact that if he went by the chronological order, the tracklist would be different:

The TownAbel said (that if he put it chronologically the town would probably be the last song on the album. After he comes home from "kiss land")
He said this in an interview on soundcloud where he was reviewing/talking about the Kiss Land tracks (the SC links are down, and I haven't found anything except a segment from youtube, link below)

Yup, BBC Radio 1 with Zanw Lowe. Apparently he has two, this one about Kiss Land, and another about Starboy.
PS. He even made an acoustic session for BBC Radio Maida Vale, of which only s***ty youtube transcodes exist

Just pieced together the narrative from the lyrics and the subtext. The instrumentals leaked a few years later and confirmed stuff like Pretty leading into The Town.
