That’s because you have a temper problem
you keep assuming my emotional state because of alphanumeric characters presented a certain way smh

Right okay so if only young people can name one song off an album what impact has it even had?
And in 20 years time when the new generation come through are they sitting there saying BTI and FHD are considered classics?
I can listen to the chronic or ready to die right now and know they are a classic.
You'd probably have an easier time making this case with Dark Sky Paradise than BTI fwiw
I LOVED BTI when it dropped. This was my s***

I don't know if it connected with enough people to be correctly compared to FHD tho. FHD was universally big and liked and full of hits. I feel like BTI was more misunderstood which is why it gets forgotten about.
Also your point about young people needing to recognize an album for it to be a classic isn't really strong. I went through my grandmas record collection and literally never heard of 90% of the people there. Im sure there's great "classic" material there that was important in the history of music tho. But it dropped far enough away from when I was alive that I'm not knowledgeable and probably wouldn't like most of it because of how much things have changed and that's ok
I feel like each generation has to tell you what its classics are. We can't rely on people who weren't there to tell you what something meant when it happened
First things first rest in peace uncle Phil
I don’t know if zoomers knowing us how I determine classic . I thought classic was more timeless piece of art . I don’t care about the what is or isn’t classic debate it all comes down to what you make memories with

“ this nigga pissing me off lmfao”
Is in the post man . I’m saying it’s a random user who cares what he says.
Everyone has different metrics of what a classic is so this just becomes a thread to get emotional and mad that someone feels differently

Yeah it’s like saying a certain age is better and someone else saying that age sucks. It’s really about how you feel about it yourself and the memories/experiences that were made

Exactly that . How you lived with the music . There is art that is classic to me based on what was accomplished in the craft but it only matters to people of the mainstream ate it up . If it was pushed heavy . If it won awards . It’s why these debates dilute into the same things often
S*** was f***ing trash fam
TEARS ALL OVER THE PILLOWCASE
Shot for me should have been the single
Shot for me an absolute classic but not as a single
I’m more forgiving for what I’d consider a classic compared to most.
Most people have some strict ass rubric that usually includes s*** like billboard and critics
I might be trippin but The Real Her, Take Care, Make Me Proud, and Doing it Wrong are all skips
Lowkey you coulda kept the intro and outro and that Kendrick interlude too. I like these but they're less good than the other songs.
Doing It Wrong is good imo but yeah theres like 6 songs on there that suck or just aren’t needed at all
“ FHD is the only ALBUM besides Kendrick's TPAB to make a political song get major mainstream success in nearly 20 years now and the only Rap album besides TPAB to be used in rallies and political change of the 2010s “
This feels wrong lol the only rapper with a mainstream successful political song ? How do you gauge success ?

F*** the police is huge, he’s trippin
People look at mainstream now as streaming. A lot of albums before streaming sold a huge amount with political songs in them. But they didn’t sell the way they would’ve because streaming wasn’t around
Take Care/ Make Me Proud/ Well Be Fine/ The Real Her/ Practice are all not good and Doing It Wrong is good but having Good Ones Go and Doing It Wrong back to back is redundant. Get rid of one of them, or replace both with one better rnb song and its a much better album
