juice, carti, trippie and few others - but people only pay attention to uzi and yachty's ignorant asses when a lot of them at the time actually disagreed with those two
Kendrick just opened his mouth

Uzi is a student of the game. He came in the game rebellious hating on 90s rappers and “boom bap” but he knows what’s what.
Yachty I wouldn’t say he’s a student of hip hop but I can respect that he at least tries to get his respect as a rapper

I’d say Uzi was still a part of that. He said Kendrick was a major influence on his flow and even though he said some questionable s***, DJ Premier and Royce Da 5’9 almost had him on one of their Prhyme projects.
He even rapped over the Rigamortis beat

His doordash must have been running late that day

but i do know uzi actually has a lot of experience of being a real spitter and dabbled even in battle rap, n he used to have straight up rapping tapes like the real uzi. n used to freestyle a lot.
and yeah he's talked about kendrick being one of his favs and like the very small amount of artists he would love to work with that he hasnt yet.
he was just being a hard headed s*** kid for a bit but his background is througho and he's way more open about that kind of stuff the last few years too n more respectful.

i think yachty is sincerely ignorant and uzi is insecure but still a rap nerd

Yeah I agree.
Like I get he was a kid and it must be frustrating when you’re trying to do that free association/punch-in trap style and constantly have people just assume you can’t rap rap because of that. And he definitely came off far more hostile about boom bap than I think he intended.
In all fairness though, Ebro was definitely egging him on during that interview and was being condescending af.
