The repetitive subject matter only thing holding this back. This gonna hold me over until the queen Lorde returns but the lyrics on this make me appreciate Lorde as a songwriter even more than I already did tbh.

Is 808s & Heartbreak repetitive?

I’ve been trying to figure this out since her second single when people started saying her songs are all about the same thing

I’m sure other albums have songs that are largely about one thing but for some reason with this album it’s very clear and obvious.

808s has robocop and amazing that aren’t about what the rest of the album is out so that has some variety

But I’m sure there’s other albums where we don’t even realise that all the songs are about similar things, I think it’s gotta more so be the actual emotional perspective and the narrative of Olivia’s songs being pretty similar?
