If a song is suspiciously similar to another song, a tried and true method of mine to prove it was inspired is to see if the key of the two songs are a semi tone apart

In this case, Misery Business (Abmaj) is one semitone lower than Good 4 U (Amaj)

And it makes sense because if you’re subconsciously inspired by another song’s composition, your brain won’t have your song be in the same key, as that would be in rip-off territory. So the best solution to making it feel a lil different while having the same vibe is to go to the next semitone (lower or higher)
