Jay is basically Andre 3000 status at this point while Nas is still out here hungry and feeding people with back to back quality albums.
Jay has never put out back to back quality albums in his whole career. After RD, he dropped Vol. 1. After Blueprint, he dropped Blueprint 2. After Black Album, he dropped Kingdom Come. After AG, he dropped Blueprint 3. After WTT, he dropped MCHG.
It would be very interesting to see Jay break his reputation for inconsistency by dropping another quality solo album like 4:44. It would be a great victory lap for him before he retires for real.

Jul 1, 2023Probably the most overrated album of all time considering how it completely remixed how Jay was perceived from the early 00s to present day.
But it is a decent album, I still don’t particularly enjoy Jay’s flow/cadence on a majority of songs on the album. It feels like he’s just trying to fit in a bunch of words. It’s like vomit.
