it’s so good to see you @AllisonXO
People don’t drop a top 3 project of their career 20 years in
The album title says it all
i’m used to seeing legends that are like 30+ years into their career dropping late career masterpieces (maybe not masterpieces all the time but more so great albums) but nothing like this. it rubs me the wrong way knowing that they’ve gotten older when i still consider them a modern band same goes for the gorillaz…but at least both bands have maintained a relatively young audience even 20+ years later
at the door is my favorite song of all time
would love to hear more ballads like that song on their next album
Love The Strokes but idk why this album missed me. I gotta give it another spin and as always I trust your word @op

i think of it as a classic new wave album set in the modern era…like a Cars or Blondie record
put me on @op
Yeah I'm with OP. The quality plus the timing of its release really made for a wild combination. I think it will be remembered as a classic. There wasn't a lot else out and everybody was talking about it.
At the Door video release + lockdown starting was CRAZY
