Look. R Kelly is a talented guy but also obviously a piece of s*** and is mentally off. There’s no conspiracy here. People arguing about dumb s*** itt. The fact is when you’re up, it’s harder for people to be prosecuted, victims to come forward, and they also have more resources to fight off things. There’s more of a power dynamic and intimidation factor, and a machine behind him. Now that he’s down, both financially and culturally, and doesn’t have that machine with him, of course it’s open season. That doesn’t make him less of a piece of s*** and it doesn’t make him a martyr. If you want to argue something, you could argue that more are guilty and complicit bc the obvious behavior didn’t deter the record labels, the fellow musicians, etc from working with him and through a lot of allegations. You can argue that if R Kelly was an average Joe, he would’ve been charged with this stuff from victim 1 and wouldn’t have skated any of this stuff.

There’s concrete evidence in this case. People itt comparing it to MJ, when it’s really not. Bill Cosby also I’m not familiar with the case, but it seems like his statement was a big part of it. So, yeah if he was coerced into a statement based on a deal that prosecution betrayed, he should be freed legally and was. But this is not the same thing. You have physical evidence and victim testimony.

Arguing between whether it's rape or statutory rape in regards to R Kelly is honestly irrelevant because not only did he knowingly engage in s***with minors, he also sexually abused and assaulted women and minors according to testimony during the trial.

Mix of emotions in all this. I was a huge fan of Kellz growing up. Hate to see him go out this way but at the end of the day it’s the victims who are important and he was a deviant who thrived on aggressive debauchery... sadly it seems a lot of it is lingering damage from his youth, but none of that excuses the fact he’s a serial rapist.
