    Last verse of this song:

It’s told in second person, with Daveed describing what is happening to him after he got kidnapped and is being tortured by Benny the Butcher’s character. S*** goes past edgy and I think it’s a genuinely f***ed up verse from all that is implied.

    Lyrics:

Rock, paper, ice pick; nice trick, no homonym
Cutouts from a magazine, make letters for your mom and them
Who remember arts and crafts, these killers is artisans
With an arsenal to elevate your arteries, start again
Rock, paper, zip tie; that slow burn that drip dry
That fissures in your field of vision make your world a fisheye
That round edge make it worser when the bubble burst you just cry
Laid out on the floor without a tongue trying to ask why
Rock, paper, gun shot; classic out in some spots
If you prefer the sweet life maybe you can die like gum drops
Smooth and round and melting if you're left out when the sun's hot
This the preferred method of smart killers and dumb cops
Rock, paper, papercut; take 'em out to get tapered up
Tie 'em to the chair and hope the tying's big enough
To make a meal, or make a martyr, make a man today or what
F*** em and let 'em know the dealer's had enough

Nah but I feel like Daveed did a really good job of describing things graphically, but most importantly is the way he lets your imagination do most of the work. To me that makes it more effective than most of the edgy horrorcore music out there

Send me some examples though. I’ve only recently gotten into these guys awhile back so I might not know all of them you’re talking about

Yup. Most of his stuff post-MTI is but I’m still a fan

tbh as much as I appreciate what daveed is trying to do here his voice is such a jarring and unpleasant contrast to the grittiness of camino and benny's verses... ngl sometimes I skip it even if it means missing that gnarly outro

Don't get me wrong, I think his stuff like Oblivion Access and Bedwetter are beautiful and cathartic pieces of work, because that is what those type of issues (depression/anxiety, death) really feels like to me personally

my criticism of the emo soundcloud rap era is that it was too glamorous and "pop", it was sanitized, i think that's actually bad for the youth because people think that s*** is cool, it's not sending off the right message

stuff like LUM's oblivion access or SGP's life of a scorpio moon is that it pulls no punches, it's that real s***, kinda reminds me of that old nihilistic metal like dystopia/eyehategod/early burzum

completely agree. Like yeah the music was good sometimes but everyone from peep to awful records to lean really ran with that depressed wave purely as aesthetic without the substance.

Black Kray still a legend tho so he gets a pass
