Can Luffy even beat kaido ?
It's not just him but I be thinking the same thing...yeah he leveling up crazy, yeah Momo finna do work, yeah Yamato currently doing work, yeah they got a whole bunch of heavy hitters and the troop numbers keep turning their way but Kaido just feel a little roughed up at this point with Luffy already getting the s*** beat out of him and Zoro on CRUNCH
Big Mom is still a factor too

I'm back and I've finished Fishman Island
Took me a lot longer to finish this one cause I definitely experienced a bit of burn out. I watched Water 7 all the way through to Return to Sabaody in like 2 months, and even using One Pace that was still 139 episodes. So I took it pretty slow with this one and was only watching like 2 or 3 episodes a week.
Overall a pretty decent arc but not one of my favorites.
The straw hat was Roger's
Luffy can harden his body parts now
I liked seeing more of the history between the fishmen and humans and why some fishmen want vengeance. I really enjoyed the flash back with Jinbe, Arlong and Tiger. The politics of Fishman Island at that time were interesting, Otohime wanted to try and make peace with the humans while Arlong wanted revenge, and Fisher wanted to free the fishmen but not kill any humans. They all were all right in their own ways imo. Then when Tiger gets betrayed by humans when they return that girl it pushes Arlong further down the path of revenge, while Jinbe follows Tiger's last words.
That being said, I really didn't enjoy the villains this arc. Hody was built up to be a crazy badass but Luffy washed him easily. I get Luffy is insanely strong now but I wish they would've gotten a cool fight like Luffy vs Eneru. Vander Decken was just silly and ended up not doing much. Maybe their purpose was just to showcase how strong the Straw Hats are now idk. Also the side characters this arc were just overall kinda "meh". Not terrible, but aside from Shirahoshi, I don't think I'll remember any of them.
When Luffy took out 50k soldiers with just his haki
Brook is an illusionist now when he just walked past Zeo while humming and sliced him up
Franky's mech
Chopper can control his titan form now
Robin can create clones of herself now and basically teleport
Shirahoshi is one of the ancient weapons
So Aokiji lost his fight and left the navy He's obviously a big player in this story so I'm super interested in seeing what he's got planned.
I think this is the last arc that I'll be using One Pace for. One Pace is only available in 720p for most arcs and now that the art and fights are getting crazier 720p just can't handle it. It gets way too blurry and grainy during some scenes. I might switch back for Dressrosa though cause I know that arc is super long, but we'll see. Gonna take a bit of a break too, I'll probably start Punk Hazard next month.

The arc indeed showcased how strong the crew is after their training! I remember being shooketh when Zoro took out Hody in one shot
I’m on enryu or w/e with the sky islands etc in the anime: it’s kinda hard slogging through after crocodile, does it start to pick up or is the war a long long way for me?
We sure about this
i think its the only way the straw hats proceed tbh. but i also think luffy should not be at kaidos level yet. i dont know what oda is thinking, especially given the fact kaido is older, more experienced, etc, but lets see

I feel you on all of this and since it's full on melee/extended cast it doesn't have to be just Luffy (ie Yamato putting in WORK rn) but Kaido strength been built up so crazy and he hasn't really shown strain/extensive damage, Zoro's for sure gonna be cooked after facing King and Queen with Sanji and he's probably gonna come out busted too
Momo a wild card tbh, man was swinging that sword hard as hell all arc + the age up
Also there's no way both Kaido and Big Mom get cooked in the same fight sooooo

Picks up a lot after sky island. Push through friend.

thats true, kaidos strength has been built up so much that it feels crazy luffy can beat him 1v1. that would put luffy maybe in the top 5 strongest characters already

The war is a ways away, but there's another arc (I think maybe the best in the series) soon after Sky Island

Let Skypeia breathe, you're gonna miss it later if you keep up with the series
I think about it all the time

Yeah
But I might be sleeping how game changing Ryuo is for Luffy and how much he's grown in Wano + ton left to see from other combatants (Yamato obviously but I'm really looking at Law here too and Momo as well)
