This is true in a way, but the ep officially marks the beginning of the second half which is called “The New World Saga” that encompasses every arc currently.
Didn't know that, word

My dawg got that Sabre of Xebec on his chest
F***
Does this count as the start of the New World though? Cause iirc this was the beginning of Return to Sabaody arc which is five episodes + the crew didn't seem to consider themselves in the New World until they left Fishman Island and jumped out with all the whales
!https://youtu.be/P-QpTQ9l6iYOne of the best parts of the series (esp with the whales singing info later)

Swear I saw/read singing somewhere but this is what I was getting at
LUFFYYYYYYYY
Raid was really rough for a bit in the anime but things are finally looking up and some of the best stuff coming up
Going through some of the previous chapters, forgot how much work Sanji been putting in
Need him to get a strong ass finish to his battle with Queen
Yeah I get all that. But I still think that the whole raid has been going way too easy for the strawhats. All the tobi roppo going down pretty easily. And now luffy fighting against kaido on par. I dunno it's just going kinda fast if I remember luffy fighting for several chapters against katakuri and the struggle he had against a yonko commander. I just hope that oda finds a plausible way for luffy to defeat kaido which isn't just gear 5 or something like. Something more creative maybe
I just went through Act 2 again and it's not just that first Luffy v Kaido beatdown/Udon but I feel like that struggle and build up is something that lives beyond just the battles of the raid but in the long, pain staking world building of Wano and its people as a whole and even beyond when you think that this goes all the way back to Punk Hazard (it'll never not be crazy to me that it took ten years/the whole of the New World up to this point to get here)
Yasuie
Like yeah, Tama going crazy with her ability right now but I thought Oda did a really good job of making me feel how hungry and f***ed over she and the country been as a whole. But I'm biased because I've struggled with food insecurity for a decade now so Wano had me early on that front.
Finished Punk Hazard last night
I usually takes notes while watching the arcs to remember the big stuff and just the moments that I liked, and I wrote a ton for this one. I'll probably end up skipping some things in this cause I could write a whole lot but I'll try to keep it relatively short.
Such a great arc, I really enjoyed this one. It was a really good mix of being it's own story while also fleshing out the world and giving us more info on what's happened during the two years that the Straw Hats training. I feel like usually only the last 1/3 of the arc is where we get info about how this all connects to the greater story of the world but in this arc it felt like every few episodes we were getting some new piece of world building info.
The lore of the island was pretty cool as well. Being abandoned because of an explosion that killed everyone (later revealed to be done by Caesar) and also being the place where Aokiji and Akainu fought to decide who will lead the Navy. After seeing what happened in Marineford it makes total sense that those two could have impact like this on an island if they're going all out.
Caesar was a solid villain as well. I really like his character design with the constantly swirling coat of gas around him. He has pretty cool powers and I didn't feel like he was as much of typical mad scientist character as he could have been. His laugh was great.
Law
Obviously this was meant to his breakout arc and man did it work. So dope. His power has to be one of the coolest I've seen so far. I don't quite understand how it works, but I guess he can control the physics of anything/anyone within the bubble he creates with "room"? Either way it's amazing to watch. Though he seems kinda weak if he's not able to create a room, but I guess it's a fair tradeoff. You can also tell that he really understands (or at least thinks he does) the New World and it's players. I love his demeanor too, always calm and level headed.
I'd say the only part of this arc that I didn't really like was the sub plot with the kids. It wasn't terrible but I guess I expected it to lead to more. Like it ended up being just saving kids because they're kids. I know they were used to show that Vergo was assisting Doflamingo and Caesar by lying about the kids being lost at sea so they could be sent to Punk Hazard, but it still didn't do much for me.
Speaking of Vergo, I'm sure he was introduced to show the level of corruption that exists within the Navy. If the leader of G-5 can be corrupt than anyone can.
Law switching around the minds of Nami, Sanji, Franky and Chopper
I think Nami in Franky's body was my favorite. Also his face after he makes an alliance with the Straw Hats and he realizes they're all silly af and argue all the time
Kid, Basil and Apoo are forming an alliance too
So Zoro and Sanji can use haki too
It's also funny that for how much they argue, they both have the same weakness: women
Sanji just falls for any girl and Zoro doesn't take them seriously enough, like with Tashigi and Monet.
When Smiley turns into Shinokuni an apple turns into a devil fruit and it didn't look like the manmade devil fruits that are revealed later, so wtf was that
When Law not only cut through Vergo but also the entire damn mountain
Sanji leading the G-5 on their way to meet Luffy
So Luffy plans on taking out all the emperors, even Shanks, but only if he's last
I was wondering where Franky was for the whole time after escaping the cage and this mf was just chilling in his mech
His fight with Baby 5 and Buffalo was dope though so it made up for him not being around much
Law swapping out Smoker's heart for Monet's, which Caesar stabs thinking that it's Smoker's and he ends up killing Monet
What a f***ing twist
I also really liked Kin’emon too. Brook knocking him over when he was solidified and thinking he broke/killed him and then him popping up and scaring the s*** out of Sanji, Luffy and Brook has to be one of the funniest moments in a while
I'm excited to see Kin’emon's role in the next arc since him and his son seem to be somehow connected to Kaido.
Doflamingo is crazy and his power seems super op. I'm assuming he's the next villain in Dressrosa. I can't wait for it. It's long af so it'll be a while before my next post.
On to Dressrosa
Also look at Robin in her coat with the lil ears

top 3 Straw Hat
I love her weird humor and how valuable she is as an archaelogist to discover the mysteries of OP
her fruit ability is dope too, she can easily snap necks
but yeah, robin best girl

Her relationship with Luffy is so wholesome. During the intense and chaotic moments in Punk Hazard she would just laugh and make a joke or bring up a story about the past. Just like Luffy does. I’m loving the way her character is developing so far post time skip.

punk hazard is one of my favorite arcs
just that the landscape is the result of a fight between admirals was cool af to
law sliced a f***ing mountain, zoro sliced up that snow bird and Ceasar Clown was not your typical ''i'll fight you to the death'' villain, instead he was cunning and had everyone dancing in his fingertips
and yeah, robin and luffy interacting is 100% wholesome
if for the first half of one piece the most crucial role in the SHs after the commanders was the navigator then post-time skip it's definitely Robin
even back in skypiea she was the only one who understood the true value of the ruins
thriller bark arc worth watching or na?
yes. It might seem weird and campy at first but towards the end of the arc there's some amazing moments crucial to the plot

thriller bark arc worth watching or na?
Absolutely
One of the funniest arcs and the end is insane and has one of the best moments of the entire series
Do people really skip arcs? Heard that mad people skipped Skypiea and....

Yeah thats just stupid. Even the arcs I like the least have some amazing moments so I would never recommend skipping an arc. Especially not a masterpiece like Skypea.
