Lol I dunno about that
What kind of growth did usopp, Franky, chopper, brook experience for example?

Fr
Usopp esp
My guy been needing another session of Water 7/Enies Lobby level moments for a while now

Usopp going crazy
Robin showing love
That scene with Zoro and Sanji while Usopp is singing one of my favorites in the whole series
Lol I dunno about that
What kind of growth did usopp, Franky, chopper, brook experience for example?
true but there's a lot of similarities tho
in both arcs luffy got a buff up
zoro had a change with his blades
someone is chasing robin
nami flexed
both are in a location that defies physics....onigashima and the gates of justice
sanji used the fire kick for the first time in ennies lobby and in wano he awoke the germa's dna
and in both cases the straw hats take on a force of the one piece world nobody can touch....the world govt in EL and the Yonkou in Wano
Rewatching the Drum Island arc. I forgot how much I liked this arc:

Sure the fights in One Piece are cool. The heart is the real reason I'm watching 1000 episodes of this.
I think the One Piece is a transponder snail
I think the One Piece might be a devil fruit
Man I have a friend that will bring up One Piece with me regularly on some man I tried to watch til I got to the gears but couldn't do it
Some DBZ ass thinking
Why would you even spoil yourself like that and as much as I love the introduction of G2/G3 (Blueno fight 🐐🐐🐐🐐) how is that a benchmark for the series at all? Enies Lobby so good and to always have my homie reduce it to that without even going through the series up to that point

Man I didn't realize how good it was until I'd see people here talking about it way after I watched it
Don't want to do a full rewatch or even arcs until the series is complete though
Keep watching clips though
Damn, I didn’t know there’s no chapter this week.
This s*** be hitting me hard every break week

I’m behind on Wano for like a year and half. Thought it would be over by now, bet a lot of things happened.
Anyway, it’s been a hard time lately, so the older episodes are very comforting. I’ll probably stop after Skypeia then skip to Wano.

I think being caught up makes it difficult for me to go back and rewatch whole arcs
Rough times on my end too so there's a lot of comfort in going back for me too but my head is always somewhere wondering about what's next and the different feel in the anime currently compared to the older stuff
Couldn't rewatch Skypiea besides so of the last few episodes because of this smh so please enjoy that, one of my favorites
Honestly consider watching/reading other older arcs before catching up

Yeah I get it. The older episodes are so chill compared to the new ones that are intense and epic. Obviously the older ones were interesting too but there’s no suspense since you know what happened. Anyway I miss the older art style and pacing and when the crew was just vibing.
I heard Wano’s animation and pacing was pretty good compared to the rest of the new world arcs that’s why I wanted to try it. Why is it so long tho? It’s longer than Dressrosa right?

That really is some DBZ s***. I had a friend who gave up for the same reason. I think if you’re not with it after Arlong Park then One Piece isn’t for you. If you want to watch fights watch a video on YouTube because that’s such a small part of the anime. It’s like 90% adventure 10% fights.

I think you quoted the wrong post but yeah I agree completely. I love the fights and they're important but by the end of Enies Lobby gears weren't even top 5 thing I'm thinking about
The New World
Pluton
Robin's character arc
What is the Ancient Kingdom
What are the Poneglyphs, really??
Usopp growth
What TF is the WG
How TF you challenge the world with just one band of pirates
Merry
Arlong was when I was won over so I agree with that as well.

I tried recapping the arcs in my heads and the most memorable things were Robin’s background story and Shogeking shooting that flag. Not the 2nd and 3rd gear even though they’re so cool.

It's not so much the suspense because I do have a strong desire to go back and read and watching everything again (esp read since I didn't pick up the manga til I caught up in Wano) but my mind is always stuck on wanting to know what's coming up next since I'm completely enthralled with the series now
A lot of the older episodes have that epic element to them too
Entering the grand line >>>
Going to the sky >>>
Everything related to Cricket and Shandora and taking on Enel >>>
So much that's great about the old art style >>>
And yeah it makes sense why there's less of it in the New World but I miss things like the challenges of even getting to a new island at times or the crew just f***ing around (hope there's more of this post Wano, when Luffy and co. Enter Wano >>>>)
I'm not sure where you're at Wano so I don't want to spoil anything but there's just A LOT to cover between the history of the country (and how it ties to the rest of the world and its mysteries present and past), all of the characters involved in Wano and the massive stature of the crew and everyone else's aims in coming to Wano.
Also covid slowed things down for a while which makes it feel even longer.

Sogeking.
Hm?
Make that flag...burst into flames
Roger

Last thing I read was some deep lore dive which I’m sure already aired. I didn’t read about Yamato if that gives you a time stamp. Just not into reading manga anymore but I had a lot of free time so I did. Really cool to see all the small details and the manga art and pacing is consistent. I was never bored except in the Davy back arc and fishman arc.
