Respect reciprocated, but I never saw a scenario where Kendrick replied without going straight for the head. The only points of confusion in my mind were: 1. Would Kendrick actually respond any time soon/outside of a new album, 2. Are all these other niggas about to start flooding Drake with diss records, and 3. Is it possible to still make the narratives about Drake compelling/is there more dirt to find.

I still think that even for a first shot, the content here is lacking and he didn't sew any interesting seeds, but you're right about it not being fair to hold that against this record by itself. That's all only a problem once we get deeper into the battle.

Oh yeah for sure I mean content wise there were a few good jabs but otherwise it was very mild. I get it I mean he probably was just trying to get jokes off but that’s why I disagree with his philosophical approach throughout the beef even at this point.
