making another thread b4 worked cause I talked about this on my tumblr blog like two days ago and people piss me off. so the buffalo shooting happen and I made a post right when it did that I feel that many online spaces normalize apathy and s*** and that irony poisoning as well and making jokes about bad s*** often is a catalyst for thing (the shooter here made a whole manifesto about it and how like he was normalized by nazi rhetoric and jokes yada yada yada) but my main point like I said especially since a lot of white leftist people even say they “had a nazi/alt right phase” I know they f***ing had access to places like that and I wish they would try to make like the online spaces better for people cause even after becoming like leftist it feels they don’t give a f*** about black people and still make very like weird jokes (the reason why being a dirtbag leftist is a thing) I don’t i’m black and i’m mad and I feel like change can actively be made if people were more genuine and kind but after getting responded with someone calling me stupid or whatever and not acknowledging anything on my post I feel like that s*** is a waste of time

I will say its nice to have a space somewhere where I can just dump my thoughts easily and it goes into an area where its not blasted everywhere

It does suck that irony and apathy seem to creep into even spaces where honest, vulnerable discussion is happening but I think it’s just human nature. It’s way easier to put up a front or troll than to put thought and energy behind what you say, even under the veil of anonymity. But I might have misunderstood your point I’m high asf
