  • I've heard a lot of music in my lifetime, specifically from Drake - I really try to judge his music for what it is in the moment because the memories attached to it make it that much better regardless.

Greece, Lie to Me, 42, and Vital are some of the best records I've heard from him in a long time, maybe ever tbh, and they aren't even the actual pieces of final work. They are songs that indicate he's about to drop his masterpiece, potentially full of melodies and introspective records.

Someone on here said he's entering his 3rd prime. When it's said and done... I think this is the one they are going to remember him for.

    1) The first question is, can he pick the right songs for this album? If anything all these leaks have made me wonder, "what other songs are sitting on the shelves?"

My answer is yes. If there's anything he's best at, it's being aware.

    2) Can he make it a compact, cohesive project that delivers a flow like Take Care and a hunger like NWTS?

This is going to be tough - it's going to come down to,"does he really care about getting enough content on the album for both sides of his music (Rap and R&B), or is he more focused on making this art (art usually pisses people off, but is beautiful to some)

1.) yes, easy answer. I bet he will cut incredible tracks to fit this together

2.) My theory is that it'll be around 15 tracks. I think the content will be pretty dark, as well as the production. I have a feeling this will have short transitions into each track but not too long like Views and More Life. I don't think he's necessarily trying to recreate NWTS but I think he's going for the same structure. It seems like the content will be a lot more introspective and kind of like the first half of Views.

    But this is just guessing.

I would love for him to blur the lines between rapping and singing again like on NWTS. He's done it for a few songs but not for nearly a whole body of work like that.

    1. Yes
    2. If he doesn't phone it in at the energy department, yes.

Lie to Me reminds me of innovative tracks like Come Thru and Furthest Thing - those tracks blurred the lines so beautifully

Yeah a little. The production is a lot different tho. I think Time Flies had that vibe

I will never listen to music again if we don't receive that song in some sort of capacity

  • good thread op. we need more discussions like this in our section

    2. He mentioned in the rap radar that he's going for a more concise body of work. He said it won't quite be like nwts if I remember correctly. But this shows he's aware
