when spatial audio came to apple music i thought it was just a gimmick and something that is more likely to ruin an album or track then enhance it…but now almost two years later i actually think this might be the future of music.
what’s y’all opinion on it and what albums do you think sound better in it?
I don't like to use it by default but when the music is actually recorded properly and then mixed by someone who knows what they're doing it's a beautiful experience. the recent Beatles remixes are all unreal. Moanin by art Blakey too, definitely check that one out
The magic been wore off of me
S*** just makes it quieter for no reason
you have to activate soundcheck for it to work properly
Only worth anything when listening in an atmos setup with all the monitors around you. The studio I intern at has one, it’s a cool listening experience. Not practical enough to be the new audio gimmick for any old enthusiast though
Mostly its ass or just overall doesnt match the original record, the mileage varies widely
Keep
I'm not a fan of spatial audio, but Dolby is cool if you have a legit 5.1 surround sound system to listen to it on. If you're just using it on some headphones it's not going to make sense.

Moanin is such a great record, Blakey was a master

greatest drummer of all time
greatest drummer of all time
He's up there, I'd throw Pete Sandoval and Mike Smith in that discussion
