the rep market is a billion dollar industry and the replicas are made in the same factories with the same exact materials as the retail pairs, in fact there are rep retailers that are too good and make rep pairs that are better in quality than the "real" pairs
stock x definitely gets swindled by rep pairs abundantly which fasho muddys the waters, imagine doing some goofy s*** like buying the travis 1s for almost 2k off stock x not knowing if they're absolutely real for sure
Get those reps bruh, get the real if you snkrs lets you thru or you got a plug, whatever floats your boat, but ultimately the s*** doesnt matter, who gives af about whats on someones elses feet.
I said this in the last thread but why arent people just willing to find a alternative to what they’re trying to get lol. If you have any sense of fashion you know 2 things, 1. There is always an alternative to the piece you’re trying to get, or at least something in the same vein. Where do you think a lot of these brands get their inspiration from? S*** doesnt just come from thin air
2. If the only thing you care about is the brand name, or the hype surrounding a piece, you’re into clothes for all the wrong reasons. It ties back to a lot of self esteem s*** too. People should work on that first and foremost before buying into trends and getting FOMO from the hypebeast community
They dont got much fashion sense and base their style off of hyped pieces while have the mentality of more expensive/hyped = better dressed
I see all this talk about those opposed to fakes being 'bootlickers' but I think the real bootlickers are the people so brainwashed by aesthetics and fitting in that they scour orient marketplaces for fakes.
Who knows where these clothes even come from, even if they do come from the same factories, when are they made? and by who? What sort of horrible conditions are afoot in these factories that have the capacity to pump out replicas en masse? There is a human factor to everything, and if you wear fakes. You are no champion of Man.

Mental gymnastics to further justify their fakes after this post are currently on the way

Nike, Nike treat employees just like slaves
what you said applies to every brand, regardless of if theyre fake or not

You are not wrong, it is one of the realities of an industrialized world, but I do not see your point. Buying counterfeit or grey market goods still perpetuates a dangerous cycle of manufacturing and distributing 'off the books', of course buying from fast fashion does too, and truthfully counterfeit clothing is no different than fast fashion. It is made to be impermanent; exploited peoples manufacturing garbage that will infest the landfills of the world.
Not all brands wield the reins of exploitation, as consumers in the 21st century we need to collectively be more conscious of where what we buy comes from, and where we buy it from. With every yard of fabric, every inch of thread, and every mile traversed, there is a human factor. So instead of resigning yourself to acceptance, seek out how to be better.

you right but the sad truth is people simply dont give a s***. for 99% of people id say something made in a sweatshop for $20>something made ethically for $100
this will all be solved tho when the robots finally come thru

Unless you legit see the people making your clothes you have no idea whats going on behind the scenes real or counterfeit. I agree that robots are the only way out in this type of economy

Wow I really can’t read
Sleep depravation is a mf , sorry fam
I’d judge someone less for buying fake Travis 1s for $140 than someone buying a real pair for $1400
Only thing cringe is lying to someone when they ask you what it is. I have a friend who's really into replicas and likes looking for differences between them, but he'll never tell me something is real when it isn't. He invests in authentic s*** too but doesn't wear them out as much.
i have the means to buy retail and some resale but its too much to justify the cost when reps can be almost 1:1
i got other s*** to spend money on

yeah the rep off white 1s hold up way better than the legit lmao. it’s literally one of the tells
someone I know started buying fakes and I’ll never look at them the same way
Wish he didn’t tell me because they do look damn near identical and hearing all the ways he tries to rationalize it got me thinking he’s a d*** head

this is the right answer, if you're buying fakes do you actually like the product or everything that the product entails?
