“That chart that I was going over saved my life,” he told his former White House doctor, Rep. Ronny Jackson, referring to an immigration statistics chart he pointed to just as shots rang out at his rally in Butler County, PA.

Dr. Jackson recounted Trump saying, “If I hadn’t pointed at that chart and turned my head to look at it, that bullet would have hit me right in the head.”

Jackson, who flew to NJ to visit Trump, noted the former president sounded “determined” and unflustered.

nah you said some weird s*** earlier in the thread and defended the police, I ain't forget

There’s a difference between saying there are horrible and cowardly police. Ie: uvalde and countless brutality cases, and saying that EVERY single policeman in the country is like that.

I would never defend those problematic ones and the stupid s*** they do. but to think that there’s not one decent one out there is just stupid

I think joining the police force knowing their very obvious role in institutional racism and their overall purpose of protecting the unfair systems of the US makes every police officer guilty

The police don’t solve crimes and they definitely don’t solve civil injustices either.

It’s a paramilitary for people too dumb and reckless to join the army

I totally see the point and I don’t disagree. I’m just saying I would bet my ass that there are some guys that join with the intention of making relations better.

When you say they join the police force knowing something, that implies they all think like you

I agree with your opinion but that’s simply not how every person who joins is thinking

You can have all the intentions you want

It’s about what you are practically doing on the ground every day, which inevitably aligns with the system of practices that your superiors want enforced

But if they are practically doing things to help relations and try, even if it’s one cop, can’t you see that might be a little better than sitting on their ass because “it’s useless”?

Obviously I don’t think it’s going to cause some radical change in large scale police force.
