Kendrick himself said he did the verse because he felt he needed to "shake things up" because he felt the game wasn't as competitive as it could be. Words from his own mouth.
The reality is that the rap game has ALWAYS been competitive. Niggas don't need to be sending diss tracks or shots at each other for that to hold true so his reasoning behind the name-calling on Control was stupid and unnecessary and acting like no rapper should have felt a way about that is silly.
Any rapper who was in their feelings over the Control verse is a sensitive clown
lol
I feel like Pacino in Godfather, I'm charged
Our father who art in Heaven, Kendrick at large
Came in the game with a plan of beatin' the odds
What an accomplishment, broken promises
Kept my focus anonymous 'til I dealt with the consequence
The greatest and latest mogul, you know what time it is
You niggas fear me like y'all fear God
You sound frantic, I hear panic in your voice
Just know the mechanics of making your choice and writin' your bars
Before you poke out your chest, loosen your bra
Before you step out of line and dance with the star
I could never end a career if it never start
I run through these stop signs with no brake fluid
Just premium gas, do it for dolo
Crash markets and prejudiced tags, look at my photo
Black excellence, pessimist died countin' my coin
Hope it's evident that I inspired a thousand emcees to do better
I blew cheddar on youth centers, buildings and Bimmers and blue leather
Forcasted my future, this is the future
The mastermind until my next album, more power to you
lol

Okay yeah I forgot about this verse here lol

Eh it wasn’t really competitive around that time. I was there. He’s not saying mfs weren’t making great music but everyone was avoiding talking their s*** around that time and he was right about that. It was almost like people were being extremely politically correct in the game in the early 10s and Kendrick shook that part up and that’s when we got more aggressive music (even from Drake himself)
Ik but Kendrick said in the call he was never dissing sean
Saying they had no issues to begin with is not the same as Kendrick saying I never dissed you
Okay yeah I forgot about this verse here lol
one of his hardest songs I wish it wasnt on a b side album ctfu
I’d rather see mfs collaborate tbh beef in 2023 amongst talented artists is pointless
I feel the same way
A real beef with diss tracks and real bars would've been good after that Control verse
Today, I don't particularly care for a Kendrick and Drake beef but that's just me
Ik but Kendrick said in the call he was never dissing sean
Top Dawg lied on twitter about it Not being toward sean years ago lol
they was just saving face since that leak/rumors of it prolly went around years ago

They were being p**** 😭

If u have no issues, then why would u diss someone ?

Big Sean - No Interviews
they squashed it and then afterward pretended like they never had issues, it’s that simple
He not wrong, big Sean career was an accident, he wasn’t born to be a star like other rappers

It’s his voice that kept him from being big
dude voice always sound like he on the verge of having an o***** while rapping

Yeah I remember hearing it again earlier this year and was like
Place is already insufferable as it is why would someone want that amplified by 10 lol
I honestly lowkey hate what this site has become lately. It got better when Ye and Drake squashed their beef but ever since last year around this time it’s just been annoying. I mainly hate how you cannot have a discussion with most Drake stans without them either catching feelings or being shallow

Naw you can’t say that look at how many pages this got and go search Kendrick and Drake people clearly want this need to happen and I think it would be good for hip hop as long as it stays on wax
Yeah, hearing this further cements the stance that Drake would decimate Kendrick if they actually went at it :zucced:

This isn't finished to be fair
@BigWorldJust Just say the word...

Drake being so willing to beef with anybody for cheap lyrical content extends into his stanbase and makes them super hostile and confrontational with the fanbase of literally any other artist

All I can do is speak for myself but even with Drake as my favorite artist I got a lot of love for the artists he has/had beef with and his personal issues with them don’t reflect back to me
